Google Earth's Timelapse Project Chronicles Planet's Changing Surface

Natureworldnews, By: Ben McBurney, 05/12/2013

In a monumental compilation of millions of never publicly available satellite images comprising trillions of pixels of data, Google and TIME Inc. have released their Timelapse project, a stunning portrayal of nearly 30 years of satellite images, stitched together to show the Earth like it has never been seen before.

Timelapse paints a telling picture of how Earth has changed over the last 29 years offering a look at deforestation, increasing populations, expanding cities, diminishing bodies of water and other changes to the planet. Google and TIME used data obtained from more than 2 million Lansat satellite images. Orbiting the Earth once every 85 minutes since 1972, the NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey's Landsat orbiters have snapped millions of images of Earth.

Thick fog shrouds Sydney and Canberra

Weatherzone, By: Ben McBurney, 05/12/2013

Both Sydney and Canberra have woken up to dense morning fog to kick off Mother's Day. The Sydney Basin saw its most widespread thick fog of the year, as light winds combined with high moisture levels.

Sydney city had its visibility reduced down to 50 metres, while in some western suburbs it was even lower. In Sydney's north, it was a mix of smoke haze and fog due to back burning in the area over the last two days. Sydney's airport largely missed out, with light morning fog only causing minimal disruptions to flights.

Very warm start to May for Alice Springs

Weatherzone, By: Drew Casper-Richardson, 05/11/2013

Alice Springs has just had its longest run of May heat in 71 years of records. The town has reached 30 degrees on every day this May except one, when it reached 29.9. This makes it the longest string of temperatures this high since records began in 1942. The current average this May is 31 degrees, eight above the norm. The very warm days have also been accompanied by warm nights.

This morning it only dropped to 18.2 degrees, 10 degrees above average and the second warmest May night in the last decade.

Wintry weather to replace Melbourne's warmth

Weatherzone, By: Mellissa Mackellar, 05/11/2013

Melbourne is on track to have its hottest run of May days in over a century, but wintry days are just around the corner. It was warmer than 25 degrees on both Thursday and Friday, more than eight degrees above average, making it the hottest pair of May days since 2002. The nights have also been warm, sitting at least four degrees above the normal May minimum of 10 degrees since Thursday.

Locals will be pleased to hear that the mercury is set to tip 25 degrees again today, making it three days in a row. If it gets that warm, it will be the longest run of 25 degree days in May since way back in 1866.

6.5 magnitude earthquake strikes Tonga region

The Extinction Protocol.com - 5/12/13

May 12, 2013 TONGA - A strong 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck off the Pacific nation of Tonga US seismologists said, but no tsunami warning was issued. The under-sea quake hit at 08:46 am (2046 GMT Saturday), 139 kilometers (86 miles) from the town of Neiafu, on the south coast of the island Vava’u, at a depth of 205 kilometers, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said based on the depth of the quake, no tsunami was expected. The epicenter of the tremor was 353 kilometers north of the capital Nuku’alofa. Tonga, almost 2,000 kilometers northeast of New Zealand, lies on the so-called Pacific “Ring of Fire,” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic activity.  –Indian Express

Water on moon, Earth come from the same source

Earthsky.org - 5/9/13

Water inside the moon’s mantle came from primitive meteorites, new research finds, the same source thought to have supplied most of the water on Earth.

he findings raise new questions about the process that formed the moon.

The moon is thought to have formed from a disc of debris left when a giant object hit the Earth 4.5 billion years ago, very early in Earth’s history. Scientists have long assumed that the heat from an impact of that size would cause hydrogen and other volatile elements to boil off into space, meaning the moon must have started off completely dry. But recently, NASA spacecraft and new research on samples from the Apollo missions have shown that the moon actually has water, both on its surface and beneath.

Amazing Awakening Sessions~ They are Contagious

MotherGod,

Things are going well for me [Since Our Awakening Session] and it has much to do with the love you and others have showed me. As I have said many times before, I am the same yet, I am different. This week being around my family I can see a big difference. Everyone, including me, is happier. Many of us are on the same journey and it shows. Things that used to bother me no longer bother me and I see love all the time. Even when my Ego tries to make me see otherwise, its like someone trying to get my attention but I just kind of ignore them, not that I don't hear or listen, but I do not take part. Its good and its refreshing. So thank you for your guidance and thank you to all my Angels and guides that help me along the way.

One thing still confuses me though. I understand illusion, I do, I get it. But I still struggle to know what the non-illusion is. Are things supposed to change physically for me? Or is living the non-illusion just what I am experiencing now? I guess the question I have is should I be "seeing" differently?

With all my love,

Shane

Severe Weather in the Form of Hail and Damaging Winds

Accuweather.com - 5/10/13, Henry Margusity

Through Saturday, we have three areas of potentially severe weather in the form of damaging winds and large hail. While there might be one or two tornadoes, the impacts will be mainly hail and damaging wind gusts in all areas.

A big cold front is coming this weekend, and much of the East is going to have chilly weather for a couple of days. Remember this old saying, "Big cold highs that bring frost bring warm weather on the backside."
