Obama signals support for medical marijuana bill backed by Rand Paul

President Barack Obama is to signal his approval of a Senate bill that seeks to lessen constrictions around the use of medical marijuana, saying the US should “follow the science as opposed to the ideology” on the issue.

Asked about the bill by CNN’s chief medical correspondent, Sanjay Gupta, in an interview to be broadcast on Sunday at 9pm ET, the president said: “You know, I think I’d have to take a look at the details.

But he added: “I’m on record as saying that not only do I think carefully prescribed medical use of marijuana may in fact be appropriate and we should follow the science as opposed to ideology on this issue, but I’m also on record as saying that the more we treat some of these issues related to drug abuse from a public health model and not just from an incarceration model, the better off we’re going to be.”

Whenever you use the word "trust" you always ask, "In whom?" as if trust needs an object. No, trust does not need any object. Trust is a state of your being; it is not object-oriented. A man who does not believe in God can trust, and a man who believes in God may not trust; God is not so important, not necessarily needed. For example, Buddha trusts; he does not believe in God. Mahavira trusts; he does not believe in God. Lao Tzu trusts; he neither believes in God nor disbelieves in God; he never talks about God, God is almost irrelevant.

Then trust is something which happens in you, it has no outer reference. Trust is your relaxed state of being. Trust means be yourself: don't do anything which goes against your nature. You can call nature "God" or you can call God "nature"; it is just a question of preference. If you are a theist, call nature "God"; if you are an atheist, perfectly good, call God "nature" - but trust remains the very foundation of a real life.

And then whatsoever happens - action, inaction, both - allow it. Go into it deeply, totally, wholly.

Why Playing it Safe Is The Most Dangerous Thing You Can Do

Why Playing it Safe Is The Most Dangerous Thing You Can Do in5d in 5d

by Andrea Schulman
Guest writer, BodyMindSoulSpirit

We often think to ourselves that playing it safe is a smart bet. To play it safe, many of us take the job with the good benefits, drive the car with the good mileage, and purchase the home in the safe community.

However, while it is unnecessary to swing for the fences with every life decision, playing it safe as your standard decision-making practice is actually the most dangerous thing that you can do with your life. Here are three reason why.

1. Playing it safe often means that we are going along with herd

Who decided what was safe and what was dangerous? For example, when did we decide that it was safe to purchase a car, but dangerous to own a motorcycle? Of course, motorcycle accidents are more likely to be lethal, but most motorcyclists will still ride safely without incident. Beyond that though, motorcycles often cost less money, are more fun to ride, take up less valuable space, use less gas and are less of an environmental threat.

There are always benefits, and dangers, to both sides of an argument, if we are willing to look.

7 Common Experiences With The Ascension Process – You’re Not Alone!

will's picture

For those of you experiencing the process of ascension – here are some aspects. Not everyone is experiencing the same processes. Just know that you are  not alone…

Below are some common experiences of leaving the old world behind, what they mean, and some tools for comfort:

1.  You suddenly feel like you have jumped off a cliff with no net, with strong feelings of no sense of place and nothing to hold onto.

1. You suddenly feel like you have jumped off a cliff with no net, with strong feelings of no sense of place and nothing to hold onto.

This is an indication that you have made a separation from older and denser energies that are now residing where you are not. This occurs many times during the ascension process, each time that a critical mass is met within and sometimes without. This feeling always passes in time, even though it can feel very uncomfortable when it is occurring. We can take comfort in knowing that these feelings always pass, and that we eventually begin to recognize and accept them the more often they occur.

In any situation you are presented with, the best thing you can do is to first ensure that you are in your highest alignment and balance. From there, the way to proceed will become very apparent to you, and any decisions will be made from a place of mindfulness, love, and empowerment for all. Balance and love are always the great stabilizers. ~Archangel Gabriel

George Lucas Epically Trolls Rich Neighbors By Building Affordable Housing For The Poor

After his wealthy neighbors opposed his effort to build another studio, George Lucas decided to build affordable housing for the poor instead with his own money. Now they’re enraged.

In 2012, the Star Wars creator wanted to build a studio on Grady Ranch in Marin County, California. But the project failed after Lucas’ rich neighbors opposed the effort, citing “environmental and traffic concerns” according to the Washington Post.

In fact, the wealthy community opposed the plan so much that they threatened to file a lawsuit against Lucas to stop. So, Lucas decided to drop the plan, and his LucasFilms company released a statement critical of Marin County residents who fought it.

“We love working and living in Marin, but the residents of Lucas Valley have fought this project for 25 years, and enough is enough. We have several opportunities to build the production stages in communities that see us as a creative asset, not as an evil empire.”

I started reading it with the intention of offering my perspective on what it had to say, and I ended up so captivated that I eagerly drank in all the advice that was offered, much of which was extremely relevant to my recent questions and experiences.

If you enjoy channeled material that offers a grounded perspective on a wide array of issues that have to do with our physical/spiritual ascension and the things we can do right now to make this process easier on ourselves, this guide could help you.

How Kindness Can Bring Back Magic Into Your Life

“Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.” Barbara de Angelis

Imagine the great human potential as a vast library full of books about every topic and discipline. Kindness would be a whole aisle in that library with books we can pick up, read and learn a great deal from. I would name that section ‘Magic & Healing’.  We have all experienced acts of kindness throughout our lives as both receivers and givers. We also had glimpses of the magic that is created around an act of kindness and the possibilities that open up before us. But alas we are forgetful creatures and partially blind to the subtle but powerful energies surrounding us.

The Gulf Oil Spill You Never Heard About May Be The Largest Ever

Source: www.commondreams.org | Original Post Date: April 17, 2015 –

The AP charges that Taylor Energy Company ‘has downplayed the leak’s extent and environmental impact’

While Gulf Coast residents and environmental groups focus on the upcoming five-year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, a damning Associated Press investigation has exposed the lingering impacts of a separate 2004 leak in the Gulf of Mexico—one that few people know about, and one that is far worse than the industry wants to admit.

Taylor Energy Company, which formerly operated the oil platform that collapsed during Hurricane Ivan, “has downplayed the leak’s extent and environmental impact, likening it to scores of minor spills and natural seeps the Gulf routinely absorbs,” according to AP journalists Michael Kunzelman and Jeff Donn.
