Seeing Nature Through the Eyes of a Child

When we see Nature, we see ourselves. Nature is our mirror, reflecting our most inner selves, and our lives, back to us.

This reflection contains lessons, advice, and insights to help us along our journey. While sometimes we may not like what we see, Nature is always here to help us, and anything we don’t like is simply there for the good of our own growth. Nature is always working with the highest and best of intentions.

If we truly want to see Nature, and not just in the way that we want to see her, but in her true form, we only need to spend time with children while out in Nature. Children are still awake to her magic, as their vision has not been distorted by years of programming and conditioning from “civilized society.”

Navigating the most current part of this shift will be a bit like crossing a stream with stepping stones.  You may feel a little wobbly and kind of scared.  There may be the fear of slipping and some of the spaces between may seem wider than you are capable of handling. Just a single moment of total wakefulness is the most precious experience possible to the human mind. This wakefulness is also purposeless. It has to be deeply understood that in life anything that is significant - love, beauty, virtue, silence, wakefulness, enlightenment... all are useless things. They are intrinsically valuable, but they don't have any price tag on them. You cannot sell them; you cannot make money out of them. They themselves intrinsically are so blissful that only a very few people have moved in the direction of these purposeless values. But these are the only real people; they are the very salt of the earth. The others are only wanderers in dreams. Their money, their respectability, their power, their position... all will be taken away before death.

But your love, your silence, your consciousness, your awakening, no death can even make a dent in those values. They cannot be taken away. This should be the criterion: that which cannot be taken away by death is the real treasure; that which can be taken away by death is just an illusion. It may last for years, but it is an illusion.

Study Shows School Gardens Help to Prevent Nutritional Deficiencies in Children

It’s no secret that kids in America don’t eat as many vegetables as they should. As non-processed fruit and vegetable intake have been linked to a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, obesity, and hypertension in adulthood, the importance of childhood vegetable consumption is becoming increasingly relevant.

According to the CDC’s 2nd Nutritional Report, some of the most common nutrient deficiencies in America could be alleviated with a greater intake of vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, and mushrooms.

In fact, 93% of kids aged 1-18 did not meet the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Patterns vegetable intake recommendations from 2007-2010, according to a 2014 study by the CDC titled Vital Signs: Fruit and Vegetable Intake Among Children.

What you push against in your life is where you lose your flow. For many of you, that area is something you have struggled with, by habit or by expecting it to be a continued issue, for a very long time.

A far greater practice, rather than engaging with it, would be recognizing when you come against it and then choosing to surrender it to be resolved, and staying in that flow long enough for it to happen.

Some of you have challenges you have been grappling with for so very long. Why not allow us to help you navigate above and beyond them, once and for all, and discover the solutions that exist but you haven’t been able to find by yourself?
