Stephen: This IS amazing! A stand-in finance reporter for CNBC, Kevin Ferry from Kronus Futures Management – after being told, bizarrely, by Squawk Box host Joe Kernen, twice, “whatever you do don’t screw this up” – has just disclosed that the current financial system and, importantly, the Libor, is about to be overhauled.

After saying that a Pandora’s Box is going to be opened up in the Libor area (in reference to the separate story posted below on the subpoenas now heading JP Morgan Chase’s way) Kevin Ferry told Joe Kernen – and the rest of us: ” I think what they’re going to do, Joe, is basically put the old system in a coma, and work to devise something that’s a little bit better, and it’s going to be tricky.”

Even after a Supreme Court ruling, thousands of minors are still locked up -- and may never end up leaving.

When Dennis Epps learned in June that the Supreme Court had struck down mandatory life without parole sentences for kids convicted of murder, he was hopeful. His brother, David, was given such a sentence for home burglary-murder committed at 16 and has spent most of his 48 years behind bars.

(NaturalNews) Not content simply drugging its millions of victims with mind-altering chemical and biological inputs, the pharmaceutical industry is now developing ways to literally transform the human brain into a drug industry-controlled, biometric computer that will basically turn human beings into nothing more than mind-controlled robots.

The Financial Times reports that GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the drug behemoth recently forced to fork over the largest ever amount in fines for its massive criminal conduct (http://www.naturalnews.com), is leading the way in unveiling what the industry is now calling "bioelectronics." The premise holds that certain diseases can be treated by injecting electronic devices within the body for the purpose of artificially controlling neuronal synapses and other activity.

PressTV, August 9, 2012

More than 7 out of ten people in Britain believe the banking sector has not learnt lessons from the massive global credit crunch five years ago, reflecting the growing public disillusionment with the banking sector.

A study by consumer rights campaigners, Which?, from 2,000 adults found that 71 percent believe the banking sector has still lessons to learn, compared to 61 percent last September.

FDA

(NaturalNews) The latest attack on free speech in America comes from the FDA and is supported by Google Adwords. NaturalNews has learned that the FDA is quietly, and without notice to affected companies, commanding Google to disable the full Adwords accounts of nutritional supplement companies offering "detox" or "chelation" nutritional products.

This secret war against nutritional supplement companies is being waged entirely outside the law, as the FDA gives no notice to affected companies and does not give them any opportunity to respond in their defense. No judge, no jury, no notice, no due process. The FDA simply bypasses legal notice requirements and goes straight to Google, which complies by disabling Adwords accounts, shutting off an important source of revenue for nutritional supplement companies.

How Huge Food Corporations Will Make Upcoming Food Price Hikes Even Worse

The entire American food system is built on one crop -- corn. And that is really bad news.

Farmer George Naylor sounds a little too much like the fictional character Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh when I ask about his corn crop. June is usually a wet month, but not this year. One time it “rained” so little it just barely wet the bottom of his rain gauge. Add that to several days of triple-digit temperatures that accelerated evapotranspiration (water loss from his soil and his crop) and his corn is in a sad state. But he’s actually relatively lucky because he is in Iowa, which got some rain early in the season. Farmers in Illinois and Indiana are faring much worse.

New spending cuts being asked of Greece by international creditors are pushing Athens' fragile coalition towards a showdown with unions and anti-bailout forces amid signs that it will be civil servants who will bear the brunt of the belt-tightening.

The mystery behind the Marysburgh Vortex

Most people have heard of the Bermuda Triangle. But few people know that we have a Bermuda Triangle of our own in Lake Ontario.

Many ships have disappeared in the Marysburgh Vortex

I was assigned a story on the Marysburgh Vortex - a mysterious part of Eastern Lake Ontario where ships and crews have gone missing. The challenge was it was difficult to find someone to talk about it - until I was led to Canadian author Janet Kellough.

Her family's history in Prince Edward County dates back more than 200 years. She grew up hearing stories about the vortex, and has spent years researching it for herself.
