El Salvador just banned all metal mining to save its environment and people. It is the first country to make such a precedent-setting move.

Most mining projects greatly damage the livelihoods and lifestyle of rural people, contaminating their water, their soil, and often cutting away large swaths of earth to extract metals like aluminum, silver, gold, etc. Often the corporations who run billion-dollar mining projects are from the U.S. or U.K., and have little concern over the welfare of the local community while they are there or after they have extracted their metals and gone.

Scientists have made some incredible new discoveries on how our minds can literally affect our biology, especially through the study of epigenetics, the brach of science that looks at how inherited changes of phenotype (appearance) or gene expression are caused by mechanisms other than changes in the underlying DNA sequence. Instead of looking at DNA as the only factor controlling our biology, scientists are also looking at what’s actually controlling the DNA, which includes our thoughts.

We receive genetic instructions from our DNA, passed down through generations, but the environment we live in can also make genetic changes. One of the more recent studies that explored this concept was conducted by a team led by scientists from the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) in Spain.

Inside you there are remote parts. Inside you there are parts which belong to the market, there are parts which belong to the family, there are parts which belong to the surface. And there are remote parts inside you which do not belong to the market, to the family or to anybody. Those remote mountains where nobody ever moves, only you are... you have to seek. You have to sit silently and seek the remote parts within you.

Remember, you are a vast universe. The surface that you have taken it for granted that you are is just the beginning, the porch. If we are talking on the porch it is because of you. There are remote corners inside the house. Many people live their whole lives on the porch, just by the side of the road: market, family, things, prestige, politics. You live on the surface. Kakua moved inside to inner, remote, and still more remote places. How can you go inside? - first stop travelling.

When you think of someone you haven’t heard from in a long while, you might allow yourself to call him or her right away and not have to consider any longer about calling your friend or -- waiting another day to forget to call your friend.

Yes, you could be freed from planning out your day. You could be living your Life in this moment and be free of loose ends.

What kind of perfection must you deliberate about? What for? Do you have to talk yourself out of a nice gesture? Is this a habit? Must you be hesitant about following through? If you are not living your Life whole-heartedly, what more exactly has to be considered before you do live your Life whole-heartedly? What are the rules you live by? Must you adhere to them even when they slow you down?

When there is an impulse that occurs to you out of the blue, must this automatically mean the impulse is a wild impulse?

Dear Ones, so many of you hold onto your old stories, particularly the ones where you were treated in a way that was much less than you deserved. By clinging to the wound, you incorporate the hurt into your energy field, rather than the healing, growth and expansion you seek.

For many of you, that is what you have been working hard on releasing, and you have let go of so much! But remaining attached to the story keeps it in a loop of focus which makes it difficult to let it go once and for all.

So if you have an issue that you can't just seem to let go of, we suggest you ask yourself what you think clinging to that victim consciousness offers you, for you would not continue to hold onto it if you did not think it served you in some way.

Is it outrage? Anger can be a healthy and appropriate response to something that was not right. It serves as a catalyst to change, but anger cannot serve you well in the long run. We are happy that you see that you deserved so much more but a healthier response now might be to love and nurture yourself back to wellness with healthy and appropriate boundaries.

Sometimes the path you are on is required to take a detour, a different direction or a full stop and reverse.  Trust me when I say this…it has nothing and everything to do with you.  Are you confused yet?  Good!
These types of things will occur on occasion to get you to stop and think rather than moving mindlessly forward to your next task.  You are not here as robotic beings working toward an end-point, but growing, living, loving humans that need to know your every intention, thought and action matters.  Some of you may view this as punishment and that is the furthest thing from the truth.  What it really is; The Universe getting your attention so you can be prepared. ~ Creator

There are mountains outside and there are mountains inside. A whole parallel world exists on the inside also. That's why people used to move to the mountains, just to create an outer situation to move inwardly - to the inner mountains. Hindus even have a name for the inner mountain; they call it sumeru. If you ask them where it is they say it is in heaven. If you think that there is a mountain like sumeru in heaven you miss the point. They are saying that inside you, there is a moment when you are on such a top peak of your being; that top peak of your being is SUMERU, the mountain that exists in heaven. Because at that moment you are in heaven.

The intellect sees love as an investment upon which you must have a return. The intellect believes that Life must go by certain rules, or you are making a mistake.

Look, don’t interpret opening your heart only with a guaranteed return. You are not being wayward by letting your heart feel as it feels, loving as you love, even if for one moment. We’re not talking about your taking advantage of any other or your being foolish and out of your mind, nor are you being just trendy. Reliance on your intellect isn’t necessary. Odds are your intellect will make you cautious. Being cautious restricts you. Your Life does not depend upon what you think about it – I take that back – your Life does depend upon what you think about it.

Life is in the present and you go on, either in the past or in the future. You are just like the pendulum of an old grandfather clock. You go from this to that right, left, right, left. The pendulum goes on; it never stays in the middle. If the pendulum stays in the middle immediately the clock stops.

And mind is just like a clock. This travelling from past to future is the pendulum. If you stop in the moment, this very moment, if you are here, listening to me - to the breeze that passes through the trees, to the airplane that is just now passing, to a bird, to the traffic noise, to all that is happening right now, open to it, receptive to it, the past dropped, the future not there - then you are in a non-travelling state of mind. And this is all that meditation is.

To what do you owe your dismay at any given moment? Whatever it may be, you are mistaken. In actuality what you have been hanging your dismay on is no more than a closet rod that waits for you to hang your coat on. Do you understand what I am saying to you? You hung your hat on a tree branch, yet the tree didn’t create your hat.

Who is it who creates your reality – or interprets it, founds it, establishes it, broadcasts it? Nobody but YOU, dear one?

The certified dismay you cater to is caused by something deeper than what you pick out as the cause. Here’s the crux:

You don’t have to know the cause. Wracking your mind to scratch for the cause isn’t a cure. In the final analysis, the cause is from something deep within, perhaps, deeper yet than you may ever catch on to.

Some might say that the supposed cause comes from a past life. Others might say it’s from this present life back when you were helpless in your babyhood. The inciting event may have been forgotten. In any case, the cause is something you latched onto. Let it go.
