Yes, Music is a Form of Meditation

Credit: Mariomorataya.tumblr.com

By Wes Annac, The Culture of Awareness

I’ve been saying for a while that I think music is one of the most spiritual things we can do, and I’ll always stand by that opinion.

I have people like the Marley family to thank for this profound realization, and through their music, they’ve helped me see that we can use this incredible medium to connect with a higher aspect of our consciousness.

Music has been called ‘the language of God’ or ‘the language of the soul’, and for good reason. If consistently practiced for the right reasons, it can connect us with the Supreme in a way that nothing except meditation can help us achieve.

Company Claims Their Flying Car Will Hit Markets In Two Years

company-claims-their-flying-car-will-hit-markets-in-two-years0

While “Back To The Future” may have been the trigger for many people’s dreams of owning a flying car, the idea has actually been floating around the minds of man since not long after cars became widely available at the beginning of the 20th century. Designs for such vehicles began appearing as early as 1923, albeit they weren’t predicted to hit the roads until the ‘70s. Henry Ford even warned that a hybrid airplane and car was coming back in 1940. And even though we have been teased over and over again with prototypes and promises (thank you Terrafugia for repeatedly getting our hopes up), flying cars are still not a reality for consumers.

But excitement was renewed once again last year when Slovakian company AeroMobil tantalized us with their prototype car/plane hybrid, the AeroMobil 3.0, which was unveiled at the Pioneers Festival in Vienna...

Power-Packed Longevity Fruit a Boon for Diabetics (and Health Enthusiasts Too)

Power-Packed Longevity Fruit a Boon for Diabetics (and Health Enthusiasts Too) - Luo Han Guo Ye - Monk Fruit

By Carolanne Wright

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

A fruit belonging to the gourd family is causing quite a stir among health conscious consumers as an all-natural sweetener that won’t aggravate diabetes or contribute to maladies like cancer, heart disease, obesity, candida or tooth decay. Many times sweeter than sugar, Luo Han Guo (Siraitia grosvernorii) only contains 2 calories per serving and will not elevate blood sugar levels. The secret to its sweetness is found in mogroside, a compound from the same glycoside family as stevia.

A humble melon, the fruit was reportedly eaten by monks in 13th century China and is frequently known by its common name: monk fruit. Considered a longevity superfood, local residents of the Guangxi Province in Southern China consume the fruit regularly and enjoy exceptional life spans.

Heart-Centered Learning for a Happy, Healthy Child

By Wendy Nadherny Fachon

Guest Writer for Wake Up World

Life-long health begins with regular doses of outdoor activity starting at a young age.

There is a paradigm shift starting to take place in children’s health and education, as parents and educators rediscover the physical and emotional benefits offered by outdoor activity and exposure to the natural elements — air, water, sunlight and earth — and how these impact a child’s healthy heart and brain development.

Inherent to this shift is bringing joy back into the heart of the learning process. This means consciously incorporating “natural activity” that promotes meaningful heart-centered and earth-centered learning. Here are some examples of simple learning activities that engage curious minds, bring joy, get the heart muscle pumping and allow for the natural elements to deliver exactly what healthy hearts and growing minds need.

The Secrets of the Spiritual Journey

Meditation at the sea shore with full moon

Frank M. Wanderer, Ph.D, Contributor
Waking Times

We are all on a spiritual journey. For everybody, this journey starts with birth and ends with death. Our life is a link between our date of birth and date of death. A link that contains all the secrets, dramas, tragedies and comedies of our lives, and we are all abandoned in this performance that we tend to forget who we are in reality.

The book of our life stretches between the two end points, and this book is the chronicle of our wanderings. The track of our wanderings is defined and determined by our thoughts, ideas, desires and our willingness and readiness to meet the expectations.

The story of these wanderings, this personal history may be infinitely varied at an individual level. Breaking through the different heights and abysmal depths along the route in the world of shapes and forms may provide the individual spiritual Seeker with endless joy and immeasurable sorrow. By identifying with our personal history written in the world of shapes and forms we experience ourselves as individuals different from everybody else.

Water is an absolutely essential element for shifting, releasing and moving with new energies. The simplest way to think of it is extra water supports your flow. If you become diligent about your water intake, you will be surprised at what a difference it will make to your comfort level, especially during enhanced times of transmutation and integration. ~Archangel Gabriel

Kinship With All Creatures of the Earth, Sky, and Water

Galactic Free Press's picture

From Wakan Tanka, the Great Spirit, there came a great unifying life force that flowed in and through all things - the flowers of the plains, blowing winds, rocks, trees, birds, animals - and was the same force that had been breathed into the first man. Thus all things were kindred, and were brought together by the same Great Mystery.

Kinship with all creatures of the earth, sky, and water was a real and active principle. In the animal and bird world there existed a brotherly feeling that kept the Lakota safe among them. And so close did some of the Lakotas come to their feathered and furred friends that in true brotherhood they spoke a common tongue.

The animals had rights - the right of a man's protection, the right to live, the right to multiply, the right to freedom, and the right to man's indebtedness - and in recognition of these rights the Lakota never enslaved an animal, and spared all life that was not needed for food and clothing.

This concept of life and its relations with humanizing, and gave to the Lakota an abiding love. It filled his being with joy and mystery of living; it gave him reverence for all life; it made a place for all things in the scheme of existence with equal importance to all.

The Lakota could not despise no creature, for all were of one blood, made by the same hand, and filled with the essence of the Great Mystery. In spirit, the Lakota were humble and meek. "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth" - this was true for the Lakota, and from the earth they inherited secrets long since forgotten. Their religion was sane, natural, and human.

The Winner in the World

Have you heard the expression:

“To the victor belong the spoils.”

In the old days, the soldiers who won a war had license to pillage the villages. The winners could take anything they wanted. They stole. It was considered that they had the right. It was considered that taking from another made the winner notable and worthy.

Spoils, in this case, mean the winnings. The winner gets the winnings. That makes sense only in the world because the thinking is that a winner triumphs, so he must win something. In Truth, whatever a victor’s winnings may be, he hasn’t won anything. The world says he won. What he has won may be nothing except a few pats on the back and a swelling of his ego. This is a poor profit from winning. The victor may have the wool pulled over his eyes. He has been fooled. Of course, people fool themselves. The idea of winning can become insatiable.

This idea of being the foremost reminds Me of Sleeping Beauty’s wicked stepmother who had to be the Fairest in all the land. She had to stand out. If she had to be the winner, others had to lose. She plied a certain kind of war. Her life certainly was made up of selfishness. In such a case, what can be won but controversy?

Nothing wrong with a good-hearted good-spirited playing of a game. Play well. One team won, the other lost, so the world says, yet both teams have played well. Congratulations!

Triple Water Astrology – The Critical Degree! Weekly Horoscope – Week Starting Friday, March 27, 2015

moon goddess A3 final water

Please like my page at http://www.facebook.com/triplewaterastrology!

We will experience Mars leaving his dominion, Aries, this week, and Vesta enters Pisces as well, creating an even greater lack of representation of the air element in the heavens. Mercury enters the Aries sign just before Mars egresses. Lack of air doesn’t necessarily imply lack of thought. Sun in exaltation draws closer to the genius of the zodiac, Uranus, and Mercury hints at a conjunction with his tutor, Uranus, by the end of the week. Feisty debates, active communication, and insights gained through actively seeking answers are all more dominant themes this week with Mercury and Uranus together in Mars’ sign.

Jupiter and Saturn still aspect in the other fire signs, continuing the “controlled expansion” theme this week. Jupiter and Saturn form fiery grand trines with Sun and Mercury, indicating ample energy for initiating projects and being an active participant in various areas of life.
