We hear arguments for prayer in school all the time, but you don’t hear too many people asking for kids to be given the opportunity to meditate while in the classroom. Meditation has a clear physical and psychological benefits to the person meditating.

More and more, adults are turning to meditation to relieve stress and improve mental clarity, but it doesn’t stop there. Young people of nearly any age are able to learn to meditate as well. And it’s good, because children are definitely capable of feeling the same degree of stress that adults do.

After attending a lecture on "out of body experiences," a 24-year-old student from the University of Ottawa approached her professor saying, "I thought everybody could do that." She can apparently do this at will — making her the first person with this condition to be studied.

The resulting paper, which now appears in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, describes the condition as something of an illusion, where a person's ability to track their body's position in space and time has somehow become externalized. In this extraordinary case, the university student claims she can do this whenever she wants — to induce the feeling that she can experience her body moving outside the boundaries of her physical body, while remaining aware of her unmoving physical body.

Another victory for the humble cannabis plant!

Washington’s State Senate has approved legislation that would allow the unlicensed cultivation of hemp. The bill passed unanimously. The bill also directs the Washington State University to study how to most effectively produce industrial hemp. The state will receive a report on the matter by January 14th, 2016.

The text of Senate Bill 5012 allows hemp to become an “agricultural product that may be grown, produced, processed and commercially traded in the state,” which is a sharp deviation from the laws most states have about the planet. This growth can be unlicensed, though the hemp must contain no more than 0.3% THC.

Alice Walker said that “the most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.”

With this concept at work (in reverse), citizens of New York and the United States successfully intimidated the NYPD from implementing a terrifying policy. Last Friday, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton announced that a new unit, the “Strategic Response Group,” would be permanently policing protests and dealing with terrorist threats...

The news understandably prompted outrage from the media,  groups and citizens around the country, especially considering that the NYPD has inflicted enough violence and brutality against peaceful protesters without the use of machine guns.

Only a day later, the NYPD backtracked and confirmed they will not be using the new police unit for protests...

Dear Ones, doubt has the potential to act as a formidable road block on your journey. Feeding the seeds of doubt in another can add considerably to the pile they may already be struggling with.

You are the experts on you. You are on the earth, in the body, to have many experiences. That is how you learn and grow! You do not need to get it perfect, because every experience leads to your expansion and self definition, which, in itself, is perfection. Encourage others to listen to their inner knowingness and to honour their own complete competency to try, and experience, and try again, as well! You can never, ever make a mistake if you acknowledge your own innate mastery, and the innate mastery of others.

You have all had enough of doubt and resistance and the discomfort they create. We love you for your mindful natures, but please know you cannot get it wrong!
