Transcending Human Madness

insanity_laughter_statue

By Steve Taylor Ph.D

Guest Writer for Wake Up World

To an impartial observer – say, an alien zoologist from another planet – there must be very compelling evidence that human beings suffer from a serious mental disorder, and are perhaps even insane.

The last few thousand years have been an endless catalogue of insane behaviour. Recorded history is an endless catalogue of wars, and the story of the brutal oppression of the great mass of human beings by a tiny privileged minority. The terrible oppression of women which runs through history – and which still exists in many parts of the world – is another sign of this insanity, as is the hostile, repressive attitude to sex and the body which most cultures have shared.

6 Simple Yet Powerful Ways to Inspire Yourself

inspire

“When you are living the best version of yourself, you inspire others to live the best version of themselves.” –Steve Maraboli

The day-to-day activities that we partake in can become dreadfully mundane sometimes. We go to the same place or places day in and day out, we interact with the same people at work and at home. Our routine becomes painful.

In order to interject life back into our lives we must find ways to inspire ourselves. And since we may not always have the means to go on an amazing vacation, or the power to manifest our soulmate this very instant, or the time to soul search for days on end without having to get up and go to work, we must find ways that we are able to find excitement and inspiration in our lives that are within our abilities.

At the end of the day we can only work with the means and the tools that are available to us in any given moment. When we use what we have in order to manifest our best self, we not only respect ourselves and our decisions, but we help others do the same. Here are six completely simple yet powerful ways to interject life back into your life and get inspired:

Native American Code Of Ethics

The Native American culture is highly spiritual and places a great emphasis on the respect for Mother Earth, Father Sky, Grandfather Sun and Grandmother Moon as well as all living and non-living objects.

1. Rise with the sun to pray. Pray alone. Pray often. The Great Spirit will listen, if you only speak.

2. Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path. Ignorance, conceit, anger, jealousy and greed stem from a lost soul. Pray that they will find guidance.

3. Search for yourself, by yourself. Do not allow others to make your path for you. It is your road, and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.

4. Treat the guests in your home with much consideration. Serve them the best food, give them the best bed and treat them with respect and honor.

5. Do not take what is not yours whether from a person, a community, the wilderness or from a culture. It was not earned nor given. It is not yours.

Waking Up Is So Hard To Do… Alone

Waking Up Is Hard To Do... Alone

By Nanice Ellis

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

I have a poster in my office that says, “Strangers in a Strange Land.” It would not be an exaggeration to say that virtually everyone who sits down in this room notices the poster, and relates to it in some way. I know I did, and that is why I hung it on my wall.

I won’t lie to you – this “waking up thing” often makes us feel like strangers in a strange land. The thing about waking-up is that it is often quite uncomfortable and sometimes unbearably lonely. It is rough being awake, when everyone around you is still asleep – and they are looking at you like you are out-of-your-mind!

Dirt is NOT Dirty – How Playing in the Dirt Benefits the Immune System

By Alexandra Du Toit

Guest Writer for Wake Up World

At present, our culture is overly obsessive about germs, cleanliness, and hygiene. Parents are constantly washing their children’s hands, using antibacterial soap, alcohol tinged wipes or changing them the second they have dirt on their clothes.

I don’t know about you, but when I was a child I liked to make mud pies, walk around barefoot and climb any tree I could find. Instinctively I craved to immerse myself in the natural environment.

When I had my own children I reminded myself of this as they shoveled sand into their mouths at the beach or tasted a pebble or a leaf. It is natural for children to be as close to nature as possible. Well, now research into the connection between getting dirty and a immune system health has found that this modern obsession with germs and cleanliness might be leading to the rise in allergies, asthma and inflammatory bowel disease.

God's Beautiful Children

It would make Me happy to have you, My beautiful children, know how beautiful you are and dear and essential to Me. I know you would like Me to be happy as happy can be. And here I tell you a way to make Me so very happy. Will you?

Will you concede that I have excellent eyesight, that I can see you very well through all the shadows you may see. My eyesight is so clear that I don’t see even vestiges of the shadows your eyes alight on. My eyesight is My delight. I see you. I see you very well. I see you as you are.

You see yourself amiss through a distorted vision, a contracted vision, a vision that can only peer out through a partial opening of your eyes. Yes, you see through lowered lids. What you see is not true. Oh, sure wrinkles can be there. Flab and whatever else you make too much of can be there. Your eyes are half-closed, and your eyes are clouded. If you do not see the beauty I see, your eyes are clouded.

You give lip service to the idea that you are not your body, and yet you focus on your body or whatever in the world you choose to focus on. If you could see, if you could really see, you would be startled by the Bright Light that you are. You are a Being that I made and that I love with all My heart, and I ask you to love yourself as I do love you. No longer dwell on what you see as imperfection. There is no point to it. You pull the wool over your eyes.

We have moved horizontally for too long, now We have to move vertically. We have moved in time for too long, now we have to move in eternity. We have desired and been ambitious for too long, now we have to drop all desiring and ambition and we have to put our whole energy into the present moment, to make it a celebration.

Neuroscientist Describes Cases Of Out of Body Experiences

Neuron Brain Synapse

Waking Times

Scientific knowledge is expanding every day at an exponential rate, and the implications of new developments, particularly those that challenge the current framework regarding the true nature of reality, are far-reaching indeed. One area that continues to become a focal point of study for many physicians and neuroscientists is the relationship between mind, brain, and consciousness.

Is the brain a receiver of consciousness, or is consciousness a product of the brain? Although science has not yet shown with absolute certainty that consciousness exists separately from our physical organs, there is a lot of evidence (both anecdotal and scientific) which indicates that consciousness is something completely separate – that it continues on even after we have deceased, that it is and can be a separate “thing” from the brain. There seems to be a lot of consistency when it comes to studies that have examined this issue. New findings within this field are rapidly changing how we perceive and relate to the physical world.

5 Steps from Fear to Freedom

By Lissa Rankin MD | Wake Up World

The following is an excerpt from my latest book “The Fear Cure

When we’re willing to view life as the teacher, even in the midst of uncertainty, a journey begins. This journey—some might call it the spiritual path—challenges us to shift from fear of uncertainty to trusting life in the face of that which we can’t know and don’t understand...

The Dimensions of Alertness

will's picture

By Frank M Wanderer

When the notion of Alertness is mentioned at a conversation, people often tend to confuse it with being awake.  Alertness is, however, not identical with being awake, since being awake is only one dimension of Alertness. It is the outermost dimension of Alertness, its surface only. Three dimensions of Alertness may be identified.

The surface, that is, the outermost dimension of Alertness is when the focus of attention is open the widest. Being Alert then means that now, in this very moment, with our eyes closed (or open) you pay attention to the processes of your inner world (bodily sensations, the stream of your thoughts, the shifting of your emotions), and the external world surrounding you (noises, scents etc. from the direct world around you). In such an instant you only focus your attention on what takes place in that very moment.
From the aspect of another, deeper dimension of Alertness it is a quality of your consciousness when you cease to evaluate, qualify and control the experience affecting you at that particular moment (disregard the functions of the mind) and, at the same time, you give up all your desires to control events. You have no expectations in connection with the given moment, you accept what is taking place, without making judgments, what is wrong and what is right for you.

The Art Of Feeling: How Painful Emotions Can Be A Good Thing

Source: www.themindunleashed.org | Original Post Date: February 28, 2015 –

A few years ago, I was placed on multiple antidepressants. Eventually, the realization that they were not only subduing depression but were subduing all other emotions to some degree as well prompted me to quit taking them. I learned you cannot simply cut off your ability to feel something, such as depression or any other emotion deemed negative, without cutting off your ability to fully feel everything else fully as well. The degree to which you are willing to experience any given feeling is in exact proportion with the degree to which you will experience all other feelings, willingly or not. Experiencing intense pain enables you to experience the ecstasy of life. Experiencing overwhelming despair brews a newfound gratitude for the happiness found in even the minutest of events and actions...

Delays: your Soul's chosen detours

When we consciously want something, for example a love relationship, a certain level of success or some other life change, if it is not in our lives it is not always because of some big block or issue. Sometimes it is because we truly, honestly are choosing to delay that new change, on a deep heart and soul level. Perhaps not forever, and perhaps not even for a month or day more. But it is a peaceful moment when you realise....ahhhhh, so I did choose my current situation, and this is why.

Most of you reading this know that on some level we 'choose' our experiences, yet still certain situations are harder than others to accept. It is really comforting and empowering to connect with the part of you that has chosen a situation - and hear directly WHY you have.

Now yes, sometimes when we want something we don't have there are patterns and issues to face. Other times there are other people's free will and life paths to consider that differ from what you consciously would have chosen or preferred to unfold. And there are times where what we want, is not actually what our Soul wants, and is not truly meant for us. Today we are not talking about those instances - we are talking about things that are meant for you, that are for one reason or other seeming to be held at arm's length.

NASA Uncovers Evidence Of An Enormous, Ancient Ocean On Mars

An ocean once covered half of the northern hemisphere of Mars, according to NASA scientists. This makes it far more likely that the red planet was once blue – and teeming with alien life.

The ocean covered more than one fifth of the planet’s surface, making it about as large as the Atlantic Ocean. In total, it held 20 million cubic kilometers of water. That’s a bit more than what is held in the arctic ocean.

NASA unveiled their evidence for the primitive ocean on Thursday, and emerging with that evidence is a wet world with streams, rivers, and lakes soon after it was formed over four and a half billion years ago.

Only ten years ago, scientists believed that the presence of water was more random and erratic, likely in liquid form only occasionally and never in standing oceans.

“A major question has been how much water did Mars actually have when it was young and how did it lose that water?”...

Do You Like To Smoke Weed And Eat Ice Cream? Ben & Jerry’s Wants To Make It Even Easier For You

Ben and Jerry’s has a novel idea for the pot smoking ice cream lover: just put weed in the ice cream. It’s no secret that they’ve marketed their product to cannabis users in the past, with flavors like Cherry Garcia and Half-Baked.

Speaking with HuffPost Live, Ben & Jerry said that they are very open to the idea of marketing and selling a cannabis-infused ice cream, of course after it’s become legal to do so.

“Makes sense to me,” Cohen said bluntly. “Combine your pleasures.”

Greenfield was a bit more apprehensive but open to the idea.

“Ben and I have had previous experiences with substances, and I think legalizing marijuana is a wonderful thing,” he said. “It’s not my decision. If it were my decision, I’d be doing it...
