5 Eye Opening Ideas That Bridge Science and Spirituality

Since the dawn of ages, throughout cultures and civilizations, there have always been those who were considered enlightened. Prophets, Messiah’s and Sages throughout the ages, were able to tap into the eternal energy of the universe. Bringing forth ancient wisdom of the cosmos and creation. Bestowing upon all who would listen, the understanding of our very existence. Some were ridiculed and others were murdered for what seemed to be at the time, irrational views.

Take for example Jesus Christ. He was known to be one of the most radical of enlightened masters in history. To onlookers, a man walking around telling everyone that he was the son of God, would have seemed so irrational and ‘blasphemous’ that just by speaking the words ‘I and my father we are one’ had already had made him a prime subject for public scrutiny.

7 Of The Most Powerful Medicinal Plants

If you look two thousand years in the past, you will see that then there were no pharmacies, no drugs, pills and injections. People in the past used organic herbs to heal themselves, they prepared mixtures and drinks from several plant, or their roots and leaves, to improve their health.

Cannabis

Because of its psychoactive constituent tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabis is illegal in most of the countries in the world. Despite its classification as a hard drug, this plant has remarkable positive effects on human health.

Heath benefits are well documented, from depression, anxiety relief, reduced blood pressure, pain alleviation and even glaucoma treatment.

It does not kill brain cells and is not a “gateway” drug – in fact, when pot is more available, studies show that the use of hard drugs like heroin and cocaine actually decreases.

Research Shows Meditation Restructures Your Brain in Less Than 8 Weeks

Researcher and neuroscientist at Harvard, Sara Lazar, have found that your brain structure changes noticeably after less than 8 weeks of meditation. They saw no changes in the control group.

Meditation has been found to increase the brain size – larger volumes of grey matter specifically – in the right orbito-frontal cortex, left temporal gyrus and significantly larger volumes in the right hippocampus.

These areas are especially important in tasks associated with attention, emotional regulation and mental flexibility.

Meditation has also been found to decrease the size of the amygdala. The amygdala is associated with fear and stress responses.

Tippi: The Incredible Girl Who Grew up In the Heart of Africa

Little Tippi is the real-life Mowgli, a child who made her home with the animals just as Rudyard Kipling’s young hero did in The Jungle Book. Showcased in her new book, “Tippi: My Book of Africa”, these magical images chronicle the extraordinary life of a girl living freely in the African wilderness, sharing a unique bond with some of Africa’s most beautiful wildlife.

Born in Windhoek, Namibia in 1990, Tippi Benjamine Okanti Degre travelled through Africa for 10 years with her French parents, wildlife photographers Sylvie Robert and Alain Degré.

From sitting on the back of an ostrich, lying peacefully with a lion cub or cuddling with a caracal, these amazing pictures show an unusual bond and tranquility between man and beast.

Understanding The Functions of Our Chakra System

chakra is an energy point or node in the subtle body. The body which  is composed of mind, intelligence and ego, which controls the physical body. Chakras are part of the subtle body, not the physical body, and as such are the meeting points of the subtle (non-physical) energy channels called Nadi.  Nadi are channels in the subtle body through which the life force moves.

The convergence of all chakras acts like a portal to the conscious dimension into the Pure Consciousness. It requires a great effort and spiritual energy to do that. Through Conscious Living, we can align ourselves to our highest passions and balance all our chakras.

5 Ways to Be at Peace with People’s Opinion Of You

Did you know that our thoughts are constantly changing? Some philosophers have even suggested that we exist in a state of flux. Meaning that our thoughts and ideas are always shifting from one perspective to another. One moment you may think of someone in a negative aspect and the next, it’s changed for the better.

So all the more reason to never care about what other people think of you, because really it doesn’t matter anyway!

1.You Know How To Say No

You are confident and comfortable speaking your own truth. You live in alignment with your soul and you honour and respect your heart desires, even if it means rejecting the approval of those around you.

Neuroscientist Describes To UN Documented Cases Of Humans “Flying” Outside Of Their Body

Scientific knowledge is expanding every day at an exponential rate, and the implications of new developments, particularly those that challenge the current framework regarding the true nature of reality, are far-reaching indeed. One area that continues to become a focal point of study for many physicians and neuroscientists is the relationship between mind, brain, and consciousness.

Is the brain a receiver of consciousness, or is consciousness a product of the brain? Although science has not yet shown with absolute certainty that consciousness exists separately from our physical organs, there is a lot of evidence (both anecdotal and scientific) which indicates that consciousness is something completely separate – that it continues on even after we have deceased, that it is and can be a separate “thing” from the brain. There seems to be a lot of consistency when it comes to studies that have examined this issue. New findings within this field are rapidly changing how we perceive and relate to the physical world.

Stunning Timelapse of Iceland Showcases Nature’s Spectacular Artistry

You’ve probably already at least gotten a glimpse of Iceland’s incredible beauty in photos, if you haven’t been fortunate enough to visit in person, but photographer Henry Jun Wah Lee reveals in images its especially impressive sunset hues and magnificent landscapes through his fantastic 4K time-lapse of Iceland video.

Shot over two weeks from late June through early July in Iceland, finding the best spots to experience these conditions was not easy for Henry and his team. They had to navigate Iceland’s fickle weather. The southern half of the island was storming most of the time so knowledge of the island’s various micro climates and scenic locations were important in figuring out where to go for any given night.

Model Gets Tired Of Being Photoshopped & Decides To Do Something About It

It’s become commonplace to see men and women in “near perfect” form on TV, in magazines and music videos, and even in our everyday lives. I say “near perfect” because our minds have been trained to think that certain looks are the “perfect” look – that being blemish-free and “done up” are what constitute beauty. But is this really beauty? And is taking these standards seriously and replicating them a healthy thing for ourselves and our overall collective?

This topic is one I’m very passionate about, as I’m very much an advocate of being genuine and authentic. I myself allow that part of me to express itself as often as I can and I would love to live in a world where we are all striving for it. In fact, I don’t believe it is something we even need to strive for because I believe it is our natural state to be authentic. I believe we learn behaviours that overshadow our genuine selves, and as a result, end up striving for things that are inauthentic.
