10 Easy Ways You Can Practice Mindfulness

practice mindfulnessHave you ever wondered what it means to live in the present? Aren’t we all here, now, in the present?

Well yes, beautiful soul, but for so many of us, we are only 10% here.

We are really living in our minds. We exist from day-to-day in a dream-like state where we’re not really connected to the world around us, nor centered in our own body or being.

Instead, we’re preoccupied with memories of the past, churning thoughts and worries about the future, and judgments and reactions to the few things we do see. Or perhaps we are lost in our smartphones and television sets.

We’re literally missing out on most our own lives, which leaves us feeling shallow, empty and deeply unsettled.

The great news is, you can learn to be more present and mindful!

Urban Homesteads and Communal Farms: How To Turn Dirt Into Gold

By Carmen Allgood
Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

When Tiny is Huge: How a Family Produces 6,000 Pounds of Food in Their Back Yard

Just 30 minutes north of Los Angeles in the burbs of Pasadena, California, is a burgeoning tiny farm tucked snugly between three major freeways. For the last decade, the Dervaes family has proven the impossible dream can come true and happily shares the trials and tribulations of their Urban Homestead with the world. Using Laura Ingalls Wilders’ autobiographical Little House children’s stories as a sweet-dream lifestyle, their chosen model for sustainable self-sufficiency is now dubbed: Little Homestead in the City.

The family of four raises more than 350 varieties of fruit, veggies, herbs, and berries on 1/10 of an acre, which translates to a 66′ x 66′ garden space. The tiny farm is also abuzz with bees making honey, while chickens and ducks lay eggs and lend their considerable skills to insect control. Other animals share the farm but are safe since the family has a vegetarian palette.

Everything is Fake: Top 40 Pieces of Fakery in Our World

Real or Fake-1Makia Freeman, Guest
Waking Times

Everything is fake in our society today – or at least a great many things are. Our world is filled with an extraordinary amount of lies, deception, disinformation, misinformation, fakery, fraud, facades, mirages, propaganda and brainwashing. The good thing though is that once you awaken to the deception, you can use it as a tool for raising your consciousness. The idea that virtually everything is fake can be empowering rather than depressing. Sure, we’ve all felt overwhelmed, sad, angry and impotent at times when we’ve seen just how easily our (mis)leaders can fool the masses with sophistry and empty rhetoric, but they’ve all been placed there to challenge us to wake up more quickly and fully, and reclaim our world.

Here’s my list of the top 40 pieces of fakery in our world today:

The Dark Side Of Spirituality

Source: www.truththeory.com | Original Post Date: July 29, 2015 –

I think it’s safe to say that spirituality is indeed a good thing. The problem is that some people can enter the spiritual world with a pre conceived misconception that it is going to be an all-round positive experience.

Spirituality is not one thing and can be expressed in multiple ways. Some will find enlightenment through their work, others through religion, others through spiritual practice like mediation and yoga, others through the use of psychedelics and others by just expressing themselves in a positive way through kindness, compassion and love. No matter how you find the spirit within you, there is no right way of doing it.

What is spirituality? Spirituality is a very misunderstood term, some equate it to religion and while it can be related it is not an exclusively religious thing. The spirit is the essence of a person, that elusive thing within us that makes us naturally behave in certain ways. When the mind is quite and all is peaceful all that’s left is the spirit.

Exploring the Afterlife What’s Your Philosophy?

Exploring the Afterlife Whats Your Philosophy

The cornerstone of many religions worldwide is the premise of an afterlife.

For centuries priests, ministers and spiritual leaders have spoken of the gift of eternal life, ascension into another world and the promise of heaven.

Each spiritual following is given a set of practices and regiments for the practitioner to follow in order to assure your ascension to immortality. And for centuries, there have been numerous beliefs of the after life and what it entails.

Through quantum mechanics and bio centrism what scientists are finding is that some of these beliefs may not inherently reject spirituality.

Debunking the Myths and Misconceptions of Naturopathy

Naturopathy is becoming an increasingly popular form of alternative therapy. Many people are now turning to natural remedies for a wide range of ailments and conditions.

However, some Australians still have preconceived ideas on herbalism and naturopathy. Fear of the unknown has shaped public perception and this has been further perpetuated by the mainstream media.

Naturopathy is unscientific.

The main criticism against natural medicine is that it is unfounded. This couldn’t be further from the truth. There have been many medical studies on the healing effects of natural ingredients and supplements. Similar to modern medicine, naturopathy is based on scientific research. However, unlike western methods, naturotherapy adopts a more holistic approach to healing.  Head Naturopath at the Pinnacle Health Clinic, William Shannon explains that natural treatments enhance the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

“Independent” GMO Researcher Forced to Release Emails Showing $25K Grant from Monsanto

(ANTIMEDIA) Oakland, CA –  In January of 2015, a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by Oakland organization U.S. Right to Know requested email records between academics, scientists, and representatives of Big Agriculture.

The FOIA requests were sent to 14 scientists at four public universities, requesting information on communications and email records.

The FOIA findings included communications of well-known, staunch proponents of GM crops like Kevin Folta, a professor and chairman of the Horticultural Sciences Department at the University of Gainesville, who received a $25,000 grant from Monsanto. The emails reveal the funds could “be used at [his] discretion in support of [his] research and outreach projects”.

About 4,600 pages of emails, among other records, were obtained from Folta.

According to the communications, the ties between allegedly objective scientists and Big Agriculture run deep. According to Nature Magazine,

This Is What Happens When Someone Has An Out Of Body Experience

It can happen in a multitude of ways yet always occurs seamlessly and painlessly. It’s probably the most profound, confusing, and utterly mind-blowing experience we can have while on this planet. As a professor and clinician in the field of psychology, I’ve had the pleasure of hearing hundreds of ways this has happened to people and each time, I’m thrilled and exhilarated to hear it again. I’m thrilled because it allows me to relive my own personal experiences, which have occurred in several different ways. Each time, it has left me with a certainty that one can only know through direct experience. This experience is that of leaving one’s own body and feeling the true essence of who we really are, separate from the physical body. The great mystery of life is set free.

6 Signs You Have No Regrets in Life

It is very difficult not to have regrets in life, and only very few people can achieve having no regrets. In order to have no regrets, you need to be courageous enough to make mistakes, learn from them, and accept that you are an imperfect being, learning and evolving each and every day to become the better version of yourself. Here are 7 signs showing that you are the type of person that definitely has no regrets in life:

1. You don’t hold grudges to people who might have behaved in a bad manner toward you. You realize that holding grudges are just bitter regrets and prefer to forgive people and move forward in life with compassion and kindness to all beings.

2. You love openly. You don’t hide your feelings or emotions to people, and you are ready to give a big hug to anyone that truly needs it. You realize that life is not meaningful without love, and you are open to give and receive love, even if sometimes this might cause you pain.

Bone Breathing: Making Your Breath Reach the Bones

“Remember to breathe. It is, after all, the secret of life.” ~ Gregory Maguire

Prana or life force is the vital energy that keeps the body alive, and channeling that energy to the different organs in our body is equally important to maintain a state of good health. Our bones are living organs too that provide structure for our body, protect all our important organs and help us nourish our entire body by producing red and white blood cells.

An ancient Taoist practice that uses this life force to restore health and give strength to the bones, is ‘Bone Breathing’. The practice uses breathing and visualization to bring more healing Qi into the bones and joints.

Mantak Chia, a taoist master known for his teaching Taoist practices under the names of Healing Tao, Tao Yoga, Universal Healing Tao System and Chi Kung, in his book, Iron Shirt Kung I, Chia spoke about the potentiality of Bone breathing, “Bone Breathing or bone compression is the method of “Cleansing the Marrow”, or cleaning out fat in the bone marrow so that you can direct and absorb the creative (sexual) energy into the bone to help regrow the bone marrow.”

He also mentioned that bones are highly porous and are always breathing; just like a sponge sucks water, bones suck in oxygen, nutrition and blood.

The Rise of an Intuitive Humanity

Kingsley L. Dennis, Guest
Waking Times

Social and cultural change is occurring fast right now across this planet, and it looks as if it will accelerate further. Many people are experiencing a wide range of personal impacts, disruptions, and rearrangements in their lives. At the same time, we are also seeing how our social infrastructures, modes of communication, and connectivity are adjusting and shifting to these changes. Within the last 150 years alone we have witnessed an amazingly rapid process of transition in human civilization, perhaps even without being consciously aware of it. In terms of the bigger picture, this is an incredibly swift rate of change.

The ebb and flow of human history has cradled the gradual unfolding of the individual and the growing responsibility that this implies. This emerging ‘blooming of the individual’ has occurred alongside the story of the slow decline in aristocracy, elite rule, and the demise of tyranny. This human story has accelerated in recent centuries, with the fall of feudalism; the birth of democracy; and the growth of an increasingly connected global humanity. Alongside this we have also seen the increasing acceptance and sharing of planetary values. We could say that human society is in the early contractions of the birth of a planetary civilization.

Fool’s Gold: Breaking Through the Fear of Appearing Foolish

By Christina Lavers
Guest Writer for Wake Up World

“A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.” ~ William Shakespeare

The energy of The Fool is one we can all identify with. For most of us, there is a lot of embarrassment, shame, humiliation, panic, and anxiety around the idea of being the center of attention for all the wrong reasons. It can feel as though the entire universe is pointing and laughing.

The avoidance of the energy of The Fool is a built-in part of our navigation system. So, wanting to steer clear of situations that might put us in that unpleasant position, many of us suppress our natural desire for free expression, particularly in social situations.

Daily Message ~ Tuesday August 18, 2015

Dear Ones, as you navigate shifting energies, your attitude about those energies will have much to do with how enjoyable you find the experience.

Think of being on a roller coaster ride. If you are resisting, in fear, and completely focused on it being a horrible experience, you will find the ride long, bumpy, and thoroughly unpleasant. If you embrace the experience, feel the exhilaration and approach it with an attitude of fun, you will throw your hands up in the air and enjoy every twist and turn.

Make no mistake, you will end up at the finish no matter how you approach the experience, but it is totally up to you how much you enjoy the ride. ~Archangel Gabriel

Do You Trust Your Intuition?

By John Holland

Intuition is the language of the soul. We’re all born aware with a profound sense of inner knowing. It’s one of the greatest gifts we possess, which keeps us connected to our higher selves, the universe, and to our divine spirit. At one time or another, we will all experience flashes of intuition, especially when it’s vying for our attention. It’s those hunches, or gentle nudges, that we so often ignore or try to wave off as being simply our imagination – only to find out later that it was correct.

Intuition is natural and you have to realize that we’re all equipped with a complex and highly tuned inner-guidance system, which we can access and use anytime we wish. Receiving intuitive information is all about energy, and people, places, and objects are all comprised of it. Since you too are energy, you can receive and read information via your intuitive senses.
