A Little Camera within Your Mind

God said:

Odds are that you see offense where there is none. Odds are that you see a picture from your past rather than a picture from the present, and you unconsciously react to the picture you see in your mind and not to what is before you. The person before you, somehow, reminds you of your mother or your father or a sister or brother who didn’t value you. You continue to feed on the past sacrilege of you. A pattern appears in your life, and it’s hard to shake. You feed upon what once was. You are looking for justice from an innocent party.

On the other hand, someone can take offense at what you say, and you are standing there with your mouth open – “Wha…? I absolutely meant no offense. I wasn’t putting you down. I had no such idea in my head. Not at all.” Now you feel discounted because the person you were talking to transposed an earlier offense from his past onto you and faulted you.

And, in turn, when you are offended, your interpretation is also far off. It is like there is a little camera within your mind that overlays the actual snapshot with a camera shot from the past that was and should not have been.

Will you admit that you are sometimes too quick to take offense? You can trace what triggers your upset. What offends you falls into certain categories, most often in areas of your competency.

Roundup Damages Earthworms and Soil Biota, Contributes to Nutrient Pollution

(Beyond Pesticides, August 17, 2015) A study published in Scientific Reports has found that glyphosate, the controversial and toxic active ingredient in Roundup, reduces activity and reproduction in two species of earthworms and increases soil nutrient concentrations to dangerous levels. Earthworms are excellent indicators of soil health, and provide vitally important ecosystem services by aerating the soil, cycling nutrients, and increasing soil fertility and microbial activity. The findings are especially alarming because this herbicide has been used globally for decades, and its use has grown exponentially. Earlier this spring, the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified glyphosate as Group 2a “probable” human carcinogen based on sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in laboratory animals.

Those who have experienced, they become dumb. Not that they stop speaking, but they speak about the methods, they speak about the way. They don't speak about the truth. They say how to attain it, they say how to avoid the pitfalls on the path, they say how not to go astray, they say, "This is the way, this is the direction," they give you a few maps, road maps, they make you aware of a few signs that you will come across on the road so that you can be certain that you are moving in the right direction - that's all they can do - but about the truth, or God, they can't say a single word.

So that meaning is also beautiful; myein means "to keep one's mouth shut". It is from these two words: from myein comes mysterion, from mysterion comes "mysticism".

Mysticism is the very soul of religion.

Breaking Down the Fourth Wall

“All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players.”

-Shakespeare

Anyone remotely familiar with Shakespeare knows that he sometimes employed the use of a commentator or “observer” in his plays, who periodically remarked, often satirically, on the action. Unlike a mere narrator, however, this type of character speaks essentially as a member of the audience, openly acknowledging that, yes, this is a play. In theater, this device is called “breaking the fourth wall,” with the idea that the stage has three walls (two sides, one back), with the fourth being the imaginary wall between the players and the audience. Wikipedia describes it as follows:

“The fourth wall is the imaginary ‘wall’ at the front of the stage… through which the audience sees the action in the world of the play…. Speaking directly to or otherwise acknowledging the audience through a camera in a film or television program, or through this imaginary wall in a play, is referred to as ‘breaking the fourth wall’ and is considered a technique of meta-fiction, as it penetrates the boundaries normally set up by works of fiction.”

What Is Emotional Intelligence?

For most people, emotional intelligence (EQ) is more important than IQ when it comes to achieving success in their lives and careers.

Our career success depends on our ability to read other people’s signals and react to them accordingly. Therefore, each of us needs to develop the skills of emotional intelligence for better understanding and negotiating with other people.

“Your emotional intelligence is the level of your ability to understand other people, what motivates them and how to work with them,” says Howard Gardner, a Harvard theorist.

Researchers recognize five categories of emotional intelligence...

Running Away From Yourself

will's picture

At first glance this seem like an impossibility, how could you run away from yourself? However, it's something we've all learned to do, we pick up the habit in our youthful innocence without really understanding where it will lead. We run from ourselves to try to escape from our unhappiness, we seek out distractions from the ways we feel. It seems to work very well in the short run, but it's a subtle poison. It numbs our pain, but it numbs our joy as well.

Of course you don't want to feel pain, nothing wrong with that, and I'm certainly not encouraging masochism here. It's just that many of the ways we've learned to deal with our suffering actually help to perpetuate it, here's a very common example:

Someone says something that offends you, and I'm sure this happens daily to most people. Now you take on this emotion and it doesn't feel good, so you seek to distract yourself from this feeling. In our modern society we have countless options for this. You could go eat a pint of ice cream to distract from the offense you feel, and then go watch television to distract yourself from the queasiness and guilt you feel over eating a pint of ice cream! So easy it is to compound more unhappiness through avoidance of unhappiness...

Introducing… The Phoenix Lights – Part 1/2

A photo of the famous Phoenix Lights. Credit: nationalufocenter.com

By Wes Annac, Culture of Awareness

I wonder how many UFO enthusiasts have heard about the Phoenix Lights, which were a series of unidentified lights that appeared over the skies of Phoenix, AZ, as well as various other nearby cities and towns, in 1997. I’m sure most people who are even somewhat passionate about UFOs have heard of them, and like the Rendlesham Forest incident, this was one of many breathtaking sightings of something that people still can’t explain.

Of course, an ‘official’ explanation was given for at least one of the sets of lights that were seen, which is that they were from flares the Air Force fired off in the area that night. However, some witnesses are convinced that what they saw had nothing to do with flares or any other excuse that debunks the idea that the lights were explainable or could be attributed to coincidence.

Here, I’d like to examine at an account of the Phoenix Lights that comes from the popular UFO network ‘MUFON’. As MUFON’s report about the lights tells us, thousands of people saw them over Arizona, Nevada and even Mexico.

This Native American Speech Will Help You Remember Who You Really Are

In 1854, the “Great White Chief” in Washington made an offer for a large area of Indian land and promised a “reservation” for the Indian people. Chief Seattle’s reply, published here in full, has been described as the most beautiful and profound statement on the environment ever made:

How can you buy or sell the warmth of the land? The idea is strange to us. If we do not own the freshness of the air and the sparkle of the water, how can you buy them?

ALL SACRED

Every part of the earth is sacred to my people.
Every shining pine needle, every sandy shore, every mist in the dark woods, every clearing and humming insect is holy in the memory and experience of my people.
The sap, which courses through the trees, carries the memories of the red man.
The white man’s dead forget the country of their birth when they go to walk among the stars. Our dead never forget this beautiful earth, for it is the mother of the red man.
We are part of the earth and it is part of us.
The perfumed flowers are our sisters: the deer, the horse, the great eagle, these are our brothers.
The rocky crests, the juices in the meadows, the body heat of the pony, and man – all belong to the same family.

Hemp Could Free Us From Oil, Prevent Deforestation, Cure Cancer And It’s Environmentally Friendly – So Why Is It Illegal?

Source: www.preventdisease.com | Original Post Date: May 17, 2013 –

Hemp is a tall, beautiful and gracious looking annual plant that can reach heights over twelve feet. Although hemp (cannabis sativa) and marijuana (cannabis sativa var. indica) come from a similar species of plant, they are very different and confusion has been caused by deliberate misinformation with far reaching effects on socioeconomics as well as on environmental matters. The reason hemp is illegal is not because of any negative impact to the environment or human health, but exactly the opposite. It is so environmentally friendly, nutritionally and medicinally beneficial, that it provides too many abundant resources which would make it impossible for powerful corporations to compete.

Why the “Chemtrail Conspiracy” Is Real

chemtrailsSayer Ji, Green Med Info
Waking Times

While any discussion of the “chemtrail” phenomenon today is immediately labeled conspiracy theory, a new study provides evidence that a global covert program is underway, made possible through political, commercial, and government interests working in collusion to release extremely toxic material into the atmosphere ostensibly to “combat global warming.”

Admittedly, when the topic of “chemtrails” comes up, I get a bit uneasy.  Like connecting vaccines with autism, certain topics have been so loaded with misinformation for so long that writing about them automatically invokes the specter of controversy, and not open discussion, as would be expected if discovering the truth were a priority.

Stretch Your Comfort Zone, Stretch Your Life

“Sound when stretched is music. Movement when stretched is dance. Mind when stretched is meditation. Life when stretched is celebration.” ~ Ravi Shankar

The concept of stretching comfort zones is fast becoming a cultural cliché. And it’s typically just something people say to placate themselves from actually doing any real stretching. But it’s still vitally important that we do so. Stretching comfort zones isn’t supposed to be comfortable. It’s supposed to be challenging. There is pain involved, but it’s more like eustress, a beneficial stress.

If you’re not being challenged, then you’re probably not stretching yourself enough. If you’re nice and cozy in the kingdom of your ideals, surrounded by the moat of your precious worldview, then chances are your comfort zone is more akin to a boundary than a horizon. Time to do some stretching. Perhaps some traveling is in order. Or maybe find a giant’s shoulder to stand on.

Creating Harmonious Gardens for Beneficial Insects

By Ansel Oommen
Guest Writer for Wake Up World

Insects and other invertebrates account for over 90% of all living species, building the basis for most ecosystems. In fact, they often dominate their landscapes through both sheer number and volume, providing many key services, either directly or obliquely, as pollinators, recyclers, pest control and as food for a host of animals.

Due to the effects of dramatic changes in climate, habitat loss, and pesticides, insect populations are declining worldwide. Honeybees, for example, have attracted media attention since 2006, with their death tolls linked to neonicotinoids and a lack of supportive flora. The monarch butterfly, whose population once reached 900 million in 1995, now sits precariously at a meager 56.5 million- a 95% drop, placing it within risk of extinction.

Keeping this in mind, the role of the urban gardener is now more important than ever before.

Day 88: One With Nature

ONE WITH NATURE   “Isn’t Earth a lovely place to spend some time? Take a few moments to drink in the beauty of this planet. Focus on the flowers and plants. Feel gratitude for the animals that hold everything in balance. Be appreciative of the water sources that provide nourishment for your body and soul. Feel the magnificence of the mountains, the prairies, the seaside and deserts.

Breathe it all in and receive the nurturance that Mother Nature provides for all. We offer you an exercise to help become more in tune with the energies and sentience of the Beings around you. The best place to do this is in Nature, away from the noise and interruptions of humankind. If you have trees nearby, choose one for this activity. Second choice would be a bush or perennial flowers.

If you are in a place that has no outdoor space or you must remain indoors, then cozy up to a houseplant. Lean with your back against the tree or sit near the plant. Take several deep breaths while relaxing your muscles and clearing your mind of the day’s activities. As your mind clears, focus on the plant. Scrutinize the plant, looking carefully at each part, including the underside of its leaves. Notice the coloration of the various parts, the shape of the leaves, the bark or stem, each section of its blossoms.
