Iranian Women Are Posting Pics With Their Hair Flying Free In Protest Of Strict Hijab Laws

Wearing the Islamic hijab veil is mandatory for women in Iran, and in 2014, Iran’s morality police warned, fined or arrested 3.6 million women for inappropriate dress. Masih Alinejad, an Iranian journalist and activist living in the U.S., wants to change this, and she’s started by inviting Iranian women to send in pictures of themselves enjoying their unveiled hair.

Alinejad makes her points beautifully in an interview with Vox; “My mother wants to wear a scarf. I don’t want to wear a scarf. Iran should be for both of us.” Read on for more of her story!

This Barber Gives Free Haircuts To The Homeless, What It Provides Them Is A Lot More Than A Clean Look

Six days a week, Nasir Sobhani is a hard-working barber who is overcoming his own challenges in life by pushing himself to master his craft. Rather than electing to take the 7th day off, however, Nasir uses that time to give back to his community in hopes of inspiring a fresh start for those who need it, just as he once did.

He calls his off-day outreach work “Clean Cut Clean Start,” offering free haircuts to the homeless. Can Oneness Hunt Oneness?

Beloved beloved, We are not We but One, and, so it is that the Served is the Server. Or, it can be said, that there is Self-Service, and this is all there can be. You have heard before that the Seeker is the Sought. The One Who finds can only find himself. If there is only Oneness, the Fullness of Oneness, then it can also be said that there is no one to seek. There is only the Found. That which you seek is Thy Own Self. Can Oneness hunt Oneness?

In this sense, grammar plays a part. There is a big division and intricate display of that which is named grammar. Only straight-out Being is True. You are the Be-er of Being. There is no action, interaction, or cross-action. Grammar tries to keep you in place.

It has been said that John loves Mary, yet love is not exactly movement. Love is Being. It cannot correctly be said that John loves Mary. It can correctly be said that John loves, the sun shines, water is wet, yet nothing goes anywhere or can land anywhere. In one sense, it cannot truthfully be said that Being is everywhere because there is no space for Being to go to. Being is full, yet there is no somewhere for Being to travel to or from or to be received or given.

Of course, science says that the truth is that everything is in motion as unseen atoms streaming when Life is still life. Only Stillness exists.

All speech is a manner of speech.

Existence is life.

Curiosity is good, curiosity is beautiful, but don't stop at it. It is a good beginning, but not the end, because curiosity always remains lukewarm. It is an intellectual gymnastics.

It is good to be curious because that is how one starts the journey of inquiry into existence; but if one simply remains curious, then there will be no intensity in it. One can move from one curiosity to another - one will become a driftwood - from one wave to another wave, never getting anchored anywhere.

Curiosity is good as a beginning, but then one has to become more passionate. One has to make life a quest, not only a curiosity. And what do I mean when I say one has to make one's life a quest?

Curiosity creates questions, but your life never becomes a quest. Questions are many, a quest is one. When some question becomes so important to you that you are ready to sacrifice your life for it, then it is a quest. When some question has such importance, such significance that you can gamble, that you can stake all that you have, then it becomes a quest.

N.Y. Stock Exchange Shuts Down

"NYSE/NYSE MKT has temporarily suspended trading in all symbols," stock market says

The New York Stock Exchange was temporary halted due to an alleged “technical issue.”

“NYSE/NYSE MKT has temporarily suspended trading in all symbols,” the NYSE said in a statement. “Additional information will follow as soon as possible.”

Art Cashin, director of floor operations at the NYSE, told CNBC it had been a “bumpy day” before the stock market was shut down.

“We had some technical problems even before the opening,” he said.

The suspension of trading, however, will no doubt fuel concerns whether other factors also influenced the decision to pull the plug.

A five star, doubly-eclipsing star system discovered

Astronomers at the Open University have discovered the first quintuple star system containing two eclipsing binary stars. While scientists think that about a third of stars are found in pairs or multiple systems, to find five stars connected to each other is very rare.

The unusual star system was originally detected in archived data from the SuperWASP (Wide Angle Search for Planets) project, which uses relatively small and low-cost cameras in the Canary Islands and South Africa to image almost the whole sky every few minutes.  Over many years, its measurements of the brightness of individual stars have been assembled into light curves - plots of brightness against time - for some 30 million sources in the Milky Way.

We invite you to dream your highest dream of what you wish to manifest in your personal life, your public life and the planet as a whole. Go beyond what you think is possible and let your imagination run wild.

Set aside quiet time each day for this purpose. As you envision the utopia you wish to experience, begin jotting down ways you want to be a part of creating this dream. Don’t be concerned with any current fears you have: money issues, lack of education, belief codes. You are in the imagining stage, honing down the limitless list of possibilities to a more manageable size.

As you list possible ways to co-create this utopian society, pay attention to how each idea feels. It is also good to reflect back on the experiences you have already had, paying attention to those that energized you and got your passionate juices flowing. Perhaps there were certain aspects of a particular job or project that you liked although you didn’t care for the other parts.

Who are the Faeries?

Midsummer Eve, also known as Summer Solstice, is one of the traditional Celtic Spirit Nights of the year when the faeries are about in forest and field. What are faeries and do they still exist today? Many people today think of them as the tiny, gauzy-winged creatures of children’s books, but this was an idea of the Victorians. For hundreds of years, there has been a strong recognition, especially in Scotland and Ireland, of the knowledge that we share this planet with a race of non-physical beings deeply connected with the living Earth. It is to these spirits that the name ‘Fairy’ or ‘Faery’ is generally given.

Faeries can range from a tall, beautiful race of Lords and Ladies to the diminutive imps we call the ‘little people.’ One of the best explanations as to what they are comes from the unlikely source: A 17th century minister of the Church of Scotland, the Reverend Robert Kirk, defined them as being “of a middle nature betwixt Man and Angel.” They are creatures of light and energy who can shift their shapes as they please, as they are not bound by the laws of the physical world.

In any attempt to save the world we are in one sense an immense help in changing the world, and in another sense, paradoxically, we are a hindrance and destructive burden upon the world. The world which most people seek is invariably based upon their own sense of pleasure with the exclusion of pain. The socially accepted freedom that we value and associate with liberation, the one that drives most us to change the world, is a separatist effort to impose our own individual agenda upon others and the world. German psychologist Erich Fromm would suggest that this is “freedom from” or “freedom to”, but not real freedom because it is based on the differing points of view that each and every one of us believes to be physical and psychological comfortability.

This social and cultural motif that humanity perpetuates is only one dimensional for the sheer fact that we have excluded the reality of pain from our existence. We are suffering from an illness within the psychological and spiritual sphere as a result. An individual will do anything no matter how absurd to avoid their latent psychological and spiritual pain. We dissect and edit out of our life what is not in accord with our hypnotic conditioning, as we continue to try and bypass the inevitables in our life. Pain is experienced when we begin to break our psychological limitations. The very nature of our perception is contaminated as a result of spiritually bypassing our psychological pain, to the point that the root of our awareness is continually veiled from the excessive stimulation of pleasure within the physical and mental planes of consciousness.
