Releasing Resistance and Learning from Life

By Wes Annac, Culture of Awareness

When was the last time you had to go through something stressful or frustrating, only to realize by the end of it that you learned a valuable lesson? If you’ve experienced this, then you aren’t alone. We all go through difficult, stressful and painful things, and most people don’t realize that these experiences are actually teaching them.

If you want to take it even further, you could say that everything we experience is a lesson. Every moment – from the joyful to the sad or stressful – has some kind of teaching for us, and we just need to open up to find the lesson. Openness will help us understand that our difficult experiences are teaching us, and our knowledge will skyrocket pretty quickly when we open up to these constant teachings.

Princeton Study Concludes: US Is An Oligarchy, Not A Democracy

Source: www.mic.com | Original Post Date: April 16, 2014 –

In a recent report from the academic journal Perspectives on Politics, the United States is not a democracy, but is instead, an oligarchy. For those who aren’t up with fancy words, this means that the US government is very, very corrupt.

The news: A new scientific study from Princeton researchers Martin Gilens and Benjamin I. Page has finally put some science behind the recently popular argument that the United States isn’t a democracy any more. And they’ve found that in fact, America is basically an oligarchy.

An oligarchy is a system where power is effectively wielded by a small number of individuals defined by their status called oligarchs. Members of the oligarchy are the rich, the well connected and the politically powerful, as well as particularly well placed individuals in institutions like banking and finance or the military.

New Research Surfaces Spelling Bad News For Tylenol: It Doesn’t Just Kill Pain…

Researchers from Ohio State University have discovered that the commonly used pain reliever, acetaminophen, has a previously unknown side effect: it kills positive emotions. In the study, participants who took acetaminophen reported feeling fewer strong emotions when they were shown very pleasant or very disturbing photos, compared to those who took placebos. You might be thinking correlation doesn’t mean causation, but when you use the Bradford Hill criteria, and examine all of the other studies done regarding the psychological effects of over the counter pain killers, the picture becomes clearer. (source)(source)

Acetaminophen is the main ingredient in the commonly used pain reliever Tylenol and has been used for more than 70 years in the United States, but this marks the first time that this “side effect” has been documented. It’s the most common drug ingredient in the United States, found in more than 600 medicines, according to the Consumer Healthcare Products Association. (source)

As You Traverse the Earth

God said:

The name of the game in the world is change. In the world, everything is changing a mile a minute. In the world there is speed. Nothing stays the same, or, not for any length of imaginary time does anything stay the same. Even puzzlement shows different faces. Truth, however, does not divert. The absolute exists in the world, yet far deeper and beyond the surface. The surface of the world is surface. Surface life is a lot like a train that is rushing to get somewhere. And when the train gets there, the train is off in a rush to get somewhere else.

Satisfaction in the relative world flits around. In the world of God, stability exists. No one rocks My boat, beloveds. You may well not see the depth, yet the depth is running the show no matter how random life may look to you. From the deep silence, My Will is done. The surface is souped up and all over the place. In the Silence, I reign.

The surface of life can make you cross-eyed. You try to make sense of it, and, often, this is not possible. Nonsense doesn’t make sense. All you can do is laugh or smile and let what has no decipherable meaning go.

You may like the idea of staying the same, living in the same house, never growing old, yet, when you think about it, you don’t desire this either. You are stalemated. You don’t want to change, and you don’t want to stay the same.

All of life in the relative world is about change, and change upon change.

Indigenous Cultures Have Primal Posture & No Back Pain Unlike Americans

Back pain is a major problem in America, with about 1/3 of the population unable to find treatments that will help. Chronic back pain can be crippling and severely reduce the amount of exercise and overall enjoyment one can experience.

There are other cultures that don’t have this problem. There are some, in fact, that rarely have any cases of back pain at all.

One indigenous tribe in central India reported essentially none. And the discs in their backs showed little signs of degeneration as people aged.

An acupuncturist in Palo Alto, Calif., thinks she has figured out why. She has traveled around the world studying cultures with low rates of back pain — how they stand, sit and walk. Now she’s sharing their secrets with back pain sufferers across the U.S.

About two decades ago, Esther Gokhale started to struggle with her own back after she had her first child.

Bahaudin gave an address on the principles and practices of the Sufis... There is only one principle, and there is only one practice. What is the principle? The principle is that only God exists. There is no god but God: that is the principle, that is the very seed of Sufism. Only God is - in millions of forms. Forms are different, personalities are different, but deep down, if you go on searching for the innermost core, you will always find God and nothing else. So this is the fundamental principle; all other principles are secondary. This is the cornerstone of the temple of Sufism: God is.

And God cannot be new or old. You cannot use words like "was" in reference to God; you cannot say "God was", you cannot say "God will be". You can use only one tense, the present tense, for God: God is. God always is, so how can it be new or old? Yes, expressions can be old, but not the truth expressed. Bottles can be new but not the wine. What I am saying is only a new bottle for the eternal wine. That's what Bahaudin was saying.
