Stop Labeling Yourself. Do This Instead.

Limiting LabelsI love label makers. Give me a “Brother P-Touch” and I’ll gladly organize your home. Labeling things makes me feel in control, allowing me to find order in chaos. It lets me know what to expect when I open a file, a drawer, or the unknown. And while most people don’t share my enthusiasm for home organization, they label things nonetheless for the exact same reason.

Labeling ourselves and others helps us to feel safe, to feel protected, and feel like we know what to expect when we “open that drawer.” And while I’m sure a blog post about judging others would be helpful, I’d rather put the focus on you. How do you label yourself? Maybe you think you’re “the nerd”, “the quitter”, or as I often called myself, “the black sheep.” Whatever you think you are, you’re probably wrong. And that’s a good thing.

Astrology Forecast: 2015 Sagittarius Full Moon

by Kathy Biehl

June 2, 2015

11 Gemini 49 / 11 Sagittarius 49

9:18 AM PDT / 12:18 PM EDT / 4:18 PM GMT

What do you believe to be true about yourself, your possibilities and the world at large? The Sagittarius Full Moon is igniting impassioned action, reaction, and rebellion that further some of those beliefs — and break free of others.

It’s an intellectual Moon, in theory. In practice, this one is volatile and emotional to an extreme. It’s bringing us back to life from the pummeling we’ve been through from March until last week. A lot has pent up within us, and emotional realizations and eruptions, positive and otherwise, are turning that complex, pent-up blend into rocket fuel under this Sagittarius Full Moon. The fuel ignites a burst this week and continues inspiring us, motivating us and egging us on for the next three weeks.

10 Principles for the New Awareness

“There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning.” —Louis L’Amour

by Owen K Waters, Contributor

The New Reality brings with it a new and expanded vista of awareness. In order to operate successfully in the new environment, you have to apply the new principles which come with that expanded vision, with that greater vista of reality.

This empowers you to awaken to your expanded potential and to manifest it.

Metaphysics is a philosophy of being, a study of the underlying principles of existence. The holistic approach to metaphysics provides a philosophy based upon an integrated foundation of mind, body and spirit. This spirit-inclusive approach is essential in order to understand the wider vista of consciousness which the New Reality presents.

The Gateway to Spiritual Consciousness

by Owen K Waters, Contributor

Love is the saving grace of all of humanity. We contact this primal energy in our finest moments. From the moment a baby is born, it is enshrouded in the unselfish love of its mother. From the moment a person springs into action to save others from peril, their own thoughts of survival are ‘overlighted’ by the love and caring that shines from their heart.

When a person dies and reviews their life, they see that one thing that mattered the most: Love. Pure, unadulterated, unconditional love. It is the source of compassion. It is the energy of caring for others. It is the binding force which holds together the entire universe, and it flows through you whenever you simply allow it.

The Pentagon Wants To Bomb The Hell Out Of This Tiny Pacific Island

Pagan island is a biologically diverse, 10-mile-long island anchored by two volcanoes in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, an independent government associated with the United States.

The island, nearly three-quarters of the way to the Philippines from Hawaii, is home to wildlife that includes an endangered fruit bat, endemic birds, huge spiders, lizards, and a rare tree snail. The island has been mostly uninhabited since 1981, when its population was evacuated because of volcanic eruptions.

It is one of the most habitable islands in the Mariana chain, says Michael Hadfield, a biologist at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, who spent time on the island documenting the wildlife on behalf of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Hadfield, a self-described conservational biologist who also administers the website SavePaganIsland.org, wrote in an op-ed that Pagan Island is a “biological treasure house."

It may also be the next U.S. bombing target.

In Contrast to You, God

God said:

Is this your voice I hear? Is it you who calls out to Me as from the wilderness? Whose crying is it I hear who says in many ways:

“Beloved beloved God, the One God, the Only God, God of my Heart, You Whom I cannot Grasp, yet You Who, nevertheless, are My Touchstone to Heaven and to Earth, You Who are the Subtlest of the Subtlest weigh nothing, yet hold up the Universe, to say nothing of Your having created the Universe and me and all the other Assorted Beings who are here on Earth and all those who ever have been and all those who are yet to be.

“You, the Creator of Everything, are not created. You, the Designer of All, are not designed. You are the Spontaneous of the Spontaneous. You are a Vesuvius who erupted into the beauty of all the fluctuations of vibrations on Earth, yet You do not fluctuate. You Who have no body to separate You from anyone else are the Epitome of Life. If we on Earth in our awesome bodies were without our bodies, we would meld with You and be the Essence of You, is this true?

“You say that those of us on Earth and perhaps other places are You, are exactly You beneath our costumes and our eccentricities. You say that we, those of us bumbling on Earth, are nothing but You except we hold onto all the physical evidence that says we passed this way. Some folklore says we are here once, that’s all, and other folklore says we recur again and again always to be Bright Light on Earth as Stars Are in Heaven.

10 Things to Give Up in Exchange for Happiness

I’m told happiness is a choice.

Unfortunately we complicate our lives to the point of being unable to recognize happiness when it appears before our eyes.

So how to clear the slate? Here are 10 things you’ll need to give up in exchange for your happiness.

1. Give up caring what other people think of you. I know it seems counter intuitive as we humans are primal pack animals that don’t want to be cast from the village, but spending time worrying what others think, is a waste of energy. You’ll never please everyone and it’s none of your business what others think of you.

2. Give up trying to please everyone.  Unless you’re living life to the beat of your own drum, your tribe won’t be able to find you. Be the best version of you you can be, and you’ll naturally attract in the people that are supposed to surround you.

When you really want to be a painter, become a painter then, whatsoever the risk. Yes, you will not be able to become a prime minister by becoming a painter. You will not be very respectable in the society, because your paintings are not useful to the society in any way. They are not utilitarian. And the greater they are, the less utilitarian they will be. The more original they are, the less they will be understood and sold. But if you want to be a painter, be a painter - even if that means remaining poor, even if that means remaining starved, even if that means that you will be dying earlier.

Suffer, if it means suffering, because even in that suffering you will have a subtle joy that you are doing the thing that you wanted to do. You will have a tremendous contentment. Comforts you may not have, convenience you may not have, but you will have contentment, and that is the real value.

But if you think of other things, if you are considering every other thing, then it is better to be a politician than to be a painter. You will become rich, you will be powerful, you will be well-known, you will be respected. Your family will be proud of you; your parents will be proud of you, your wife, your children, all will be proud of you. Everybody's ego will be fulfilled. Your neighbors will be proud.

Everybody will think that you are a precious gem, but you will be discontented.

Monsanto GMOs Defeated by Oregon Organic Farmers as Federal Judge Upholds Seed Ban

A coalition of Oregon organic farmers has beaten Monsanto—the corporate agriculture giant—in a landmark federal lawsuit that will make national waves by the way that their rural county banned the use of genetically modified seeds.

On Friday, Mark D. Clarke, a federal magistrate judge, dismissed a legal challenge brought by commercial farmers who use Monsanto's genetically modified alfalfa seeds. The non-organic farms sought to overturn a 2014 ordinance passed by Jackson County voters that banned the use of such seed stock, claiming that the anti-GMO ordinance violated their right to farm.

However Judge Clarke concluded that exactly the opposite was the case. He held that the county's no-GMO seed ordinance could take effect next week, citing earlier state legislation that protected commercial farms—in this case organic farmers—from harm from other commercial enterprises, such as the commercial farms whose GMO-laced alfalfa pollen gets carried by the wind and can't be stopped from tainting organic crops.

Vietnamese Kindergarten Teaches Gardening And Sustainability

When you think of the typical education system, most probably think of the usual subjects…science, math, history, etc. While these subjects are important it seems there is something missing, like useful sustainable lessons.

A kindergarten school in Vietnam, designed by Vo Trong Nghia Architects, has implemented such sustainable lessons. Not only does the “Farming Kindergarten” offer classes in sustainability and gardening, but the structure itself reflects their teachings. Outfitted with a green roof for gardening is just the start.

“Architectural and mechanical energy-saving methods are comprehensively applied including: Green roof, PC-concrete louver for shading, using recycle materials, water recycling, solar water heating and more,” according to Vo Trong Nghia.“These devices are designed visibly in order for children to realize the important role of sustainable education.”
