Room at the Inn [II]

What if everyone welcomed everyone into their hearts? What if it were easy and natural to accept everyone? No effort involved. What has made it so difficult for Me in the form of you to welcome everyone to Our fold? There is some need this fills, or no one would dismiss this person or that. You would not. You would not block anyone from your heart and let in only those especially chosen. You would not bar some or any from your heart nor would you welcome some and then later decide to toss them out.

There may be more people that you don’t favor than those you do. This makes no sense.

Ego must play some part in this. Ego might be looking for status. Ego likes to judge. You might hear ego call out: “Unworthy of you. Skip that one.”

Ego might whisper in your ear, and you turn away from someone you would bless with a hello. You never know. Welcoming all to this world does not make you gallant. The least you can do is to move over and offer another a seat. What can be so hard about having a generous heart?

Of course, you can’t marry everyone. You can’t bring your whole class home with you after school, yet what says that you are not ready to be on behalf of everyone? I wonder why you make lists in your mind and cross out some hearts from your heart. What is the good of it? If being exclusive makes you happy, how can that be? You snub someone, and you feel good about it?

If you remember God.... And to remember God means to see God in the trees and the birds and the people and the animals. Wherever life is look for God, wherever existence is search for God, because only God is - La illaha ill Allah. So he can be found anywhere. He has to be found everywhere. Don't look for God as a person, otherwise you will go on missing.

That's why millions of people search for God but go on missing. They are searching for a certain image. God has no image; God is not a person. God is this wholeness, this totality. So don't start looking for a certain personage, otherwise you will never find him, and, not finding him, you will start thinking there is no God. You started from a wrong vision.

Because God has been thought of as a person, there are so many atheists in the world. The atheists are there because of your so-called religious people. The so-called religious people talk about God as if God is a person, and they cannot prove him. They naturally create a climate in which atheism flowers. Almost half of the earth has become atheist. All the communists are atheists, and the remaining people are only so-called religious; they are ready to turn to atheism any moment.

Do you know? Before the Russian revolution, Soviet Russia was one of the most religious countries of the world? It was as religious as India is. And just after the revolution, within five years, all religions simply disappeared. What kind of religion was this which took only five years to disappear?

And when the atheists came into power, people simply surrendered to atheism. That religion was false; it was pseudo.

Good News: Europe’s Bears And Wolves Are Thriving Again

Here’s a fact that should make all of us Americans a little bit ashamed: Europe, with half of the land area and double the population density as the United States, is now home to twice as many wolves as the United States. And those wolves, along with other carnivores, are thriving!

A new study has shown that European carnivores are experiencing a massive resurgence in their numbers, and interestingly enough, mostly in areas of the continent that aren’t set aside as protected areas. This indicates that these carnivores and the people who settle near them are less at odds with one another than before. Additionally, some of that success is owed to international cooperation between European nations, strong regulations, and a much better public attitude.

Woops! The New Pot Species Story Is A Hoax.

Kind reader, I have what I like to call a finely tuned bullshit detector, but this one slipped right past it. Last week, we reported that scientists discovered a new type of cannabis in Australia. Sadly, even I got duped by this one. It’s a total hoax. I guess it goes to show that you can’t always believe everything you read on the Internet.

Sad to report for all of our pot-loving friends out there, there won’t be an exotic new type of cannabis headed for your bong any time soon. Of course, with the species of cannabis that we know for sure exist, the opportunity to find new medicinal and utilitarian uses for the plant is still very much present, and we look forward to reporting actual advances as they happen, not hoaxes.

Composting 101: How And Why To Start Your Very Own Compost Heap

Did you know that the United States produced 250 million tons of trash in 2010? That’s a lot of garbage! Most of that trash is either recyclable, which is an important thing to do, or can be thrown into a compost heap. Composting enables you to divert a ton of trash from the landfill and creates good, usable soil for your garden at home.

Pretty great, right?

It can certainly be hard for some people to find a way to compost. I mean, where do you put a compost heap if you’re in an apartment building? Hey, necessity is the mother of invention, right? Maybe talk to your property management about starting a building-wide composting program, or finding local farmers who will gladly take your trash.

Living Close To Trees Comes With A Number Of Health Benefits

Trees are one of nature’s many wonders. They’re beautiful to look at and can house animals and produce fruits that we enjoy; they also provide us with shade when we need it on those hot and hazy summer days. As if that weren’t enough, new research from the University of Exeter has concluded that being around trees makes us happier, functioning as a natural antidepressants.

The study found that antidepressants were prescribed less frequently in areas in London which have more trees. To gain this information, researchers gathered data for antidepressant prescriptions across London in 2009-2010 and then compared that data with the numbers of street trees in the same area. They soon discovered that antidepressant prescriptions were significantly lower in areas which housed a higher concentration of trees.

Lobbyist buzzes Washington over extraterrestrials and a government ‘truth embargo’

Those weary of politics as usual in the nation’s capital can consider this less-traveled road manned by one Stephen Bassett, a registered lobbyist and activist who has not given up his pursuit of aliens, as in the extraterrestrial variety. On Wednesday, Mr. Bassett heads to the National Press Club to make his case for “disclosure” — a formal acknowledgment by the U.S. government that it has withheld information for decades about the presence of the otherworldly set on these shores and elsewhere. He also seeks a congressional hearing on the “truth embargo,” and now says he has a variety of military and political witnesses “of rank and station” ready to testify.

Mr. Bassett has had a dress rehearsal of sorts. Last year, he staged his own public hearing on the extraterrestrial question, drawing 42 witnesses and a planning committee that included six former lawmakers. He sent a DVD of the event, also staged in the National Press Club, to all members of Congress that outlined concerns over secrecy and the possibility that unusual technology might be in the mix. Mr. Bassett also has filed several public petitions demanding disclosure through the White House’s “We the People” project. One is active, and another drew enough signatures to warrant an official response.

What Really is Self-Realisation?…and How Can it Help You Drink the Juice of Life?

By Open

Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

We read about ‘self-realisation’ in spiritual circles, but what really does that mean? We may gain an intellectual understanding, but to me, there’s much more to the term itself and what it can encourage us to do; how to live. I observe in the work we do, that when a person finds the right alignment in life, which incorporates self-realisation, then our perspective on life changes immeasurably for the better. It can be said, that in actual fact, there is nothing else but self-realisation going on. It’s just a question of whether we’re actively engaged in it, in which case we become the masters of it; or else we’re ignorant of it, and thus become victims. So what really is self-realisation, and how can we benefit from it?…
