VATICAN CITY (AP) — Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina was elected pope Wednesday and chose the name Francis, becoming the first pontiff from the Americas and the first from outside Europe in more than a millennium.

Her Majesty, who will be 87 next month, had been due to visit a technology park in east London on Wednesday with her son, the Duke of York, and was expected at a church service at the Guards Chapel near Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

Hackers have published what are alleged to be the personal financial records for several politicians and celebrities, including US Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Eric Holder and musicians Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

Gossip website TMZ reported on Monday that hackers have leaked sensitive information pertaining to a list of prominent Americans, including celebrities Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson and Ashton Kutcher, as well as public figures Joe Biden, Robert Mueller, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, but elected to not share the information with their audience.

A new group of locusts crossed the border from the Sinai region on Sunday, ending up in the area of Moshav Be’er Malka, in the Ramat Hanegev region, the Agriculture Ministry reported.

In January, a new group of medical-research chimpanzees began arriving at a retirement home in Louisiana called Chimp Haven. Before their arrival, the chimps had been housed at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s New Iberia Research Center, a primate research facility that had been in trouble for illegal chimp breeding and Animal Welfare Act violations.

 

 

After a period of quarantine at Chimp Haven, the chimps are being released into their new habitat, and video footage has captured a few of those moments.

The cold weather isn’t the only thing keeping South Florida swimmers out of the Atlantic Ocean.

This week thousands of blacktip and spinner sharks were filmed swarming off the state's southern coast as part of their seasonal migration.
