8 Reasons to Become a Yardfarmer

Yardfarmers is a new reality TV/documentary series hybrid for release in Spring 2017. It will follow a diverse set of six young Americans as they move back home with their parents to become yardfarmers. The production crew at Yardfarmers is currently searching for the right people to participate in the show. The concept is simple: follow six young Americans as they live with their parents and attempt to make a livelihood out of growing food in their parents’ and neighbours’ yards, random street flower boxes, churchyards, school yards, vacant lots, cemeteries, or whatever spaces they can find that can be converted from useless ornamental lawn into a new source of healthy, local, and sustainable food. (1)

Apart from raising awareness about some of the important issues and challenges we face, Yardfarmers is about converting unsustainable suburban developments, urban food deserts, or other neglected land into sustainable, more resilient opportunities for people while building community. While not everyone can be in a reality TV show like Yardfarmers, everyone can become a yardfarmer. With interest in the “grow your own” food movement which is gaining ever more traction, the show is destined to be a hit. Below are eight reasons to become a yardfarmer and join the yardfarming revolution…

The First Sign You’re Living Beyond The Five Senses

The five senses provide information in a way that allows the majority of people to understand the world around them. Some people, however, are certain they’re able to receive information beyond what they see, taste, smell, hear, and touch. If information is actually received beyond what the everyday physical world reveals, how can we be sure we’re able to recognize, receive, and understand that information?

One of the first signs is that a major life-changing event normally precipitates the ability to know something that cannot be explained with the five senses alone. These life changing events can be in the form of Near-Death-Experiences (NDE), Out-of-Body Experiences (OBE), trauma, catastrophic illness, or any other life event that causes one’s world view to change dramatically. Near-Death and Out-of-Body Experiences often leave people in complete awe of what they’ve experienced. The merging with light, the ability to see one’s own body from a vantage point, communicating telepathically with other beings, and so much more, brings shock and often confusion about what the physical world is really about.

(Video) Indigenous Elder Shares Powerful Words Of Wisdom For All Governments/Corporations & People

“We are part of Creation, thus, if we break the laws of Creation we destroy ourselves. We, the Original Caretakers of Mother Earth, have no choice but to follow and uphold the Original Instructions, which sustains the continuity of Life. We recognize our umbilical connection to Mother Earth and understand that she is the source of life, not a resource to be exploited. We speak on behalf of all Creation today, to communicate an urgent message that man has gone too far, placing us in the state of survival. We warned that one day you would not be able to control what you have created. That day is here. Not heeding warnings from both Nature and the People of the Earth keeps us on the path of self destruction. This self destructive path has led to the Fukushima nuclear crisis, Gulf oil spill, tar sands devastation, pipeline failures, impacts of carbon dioxide emissions and the destruction of ground water through hydraulic fracking, just to name a few. In addition, these activities and development continue to cause the deterioration and destruction of sacred places and sacred waters that are vital for Life.” (Video)

Why A Wandering Mind Is An Unhappy One (4 Easy Ways To Be More Present)

What Is Grounding?

When I refer to grounding, I am referring to the act of planting your two feet firmly on the ground and being completely present in the moment. When we worry or overthink things, are stressed, or work with technology too much, we can sometimes “unground” ourselves. Meaning, we disconnect from the present moment and “float” in our imaginations.

We unground ourselves as a means of escaping the everyday for one reason or another. Sometimes we escape into our imaginations when we’re worrying about something or doing something we don’t enjoy, or simply because we are overwhelmed by the task at hand.

Being ungrounded can create feelings of anxiety, brain fog, confusion, or tiredness.

Why We Need To Ground

We are here on this Earth for a reason. We need to take part in our existence actively. An interesting study was published by Harvard University a few years ago where the participants were asked various questions at random points during the day to determine whether their mind was wandering, if they were daydreaming about a pleasant or negative topic, and what their happiness levels were at the time.

Propaganda: Do You Know You’re Soaking In It?

Each and every day we are subject to propaganda, yet many of us are oblivious to the fact that we are being manipulated so frequently. In light of compelling information and evidence which supports largely predictable outcomes, propaganda can be used to confuse, obstruct, and distract individuals and society from clearly understanding the issues at hand. As we face serious and interconnected challenges, it is important to understand the role propaganda plays in society.

Lockheed Exec Admits Key To Space Travel Is ESP

Ben Rich is a UCLA engineering alumnus who was also the director of Lockheed Martin’s super high tech aircraft division called Skunk Works from 1975 to 1991. Rich admits that the key to space travel among the stars is not necessarily advanced mechanics, or the ultimate rocket fuel, but something more esoteric – ESP.

One of the main hurdles to mankind in reaching other worlds off-planet has been the sheer distance and time it would take to get there. Our current space shuttles (at least with the horse-and-buggie-like technology that has been released to the public) only travel 17,500 miles per hour. This means that visiting the second nearest star to our planet, Proxima Centauri, a meager 4.22 light years away, would take several life times. Of course, then there are fuel costs, which would be more than prohibitive using conventionally imagined space travel.

Worm holes could be used like short cuts through Sunday traffic, and ‘warp drive’ or anti-gravity, which Boeing has admitted to working on could also shorten the ride, but we’d still be looking at more rocket fuel than Exxon, Saudi Aramco, Royal Dutch Shell, Chevron, and BP combined have ever even sneezed at.

5 Classic Experiments Showing Extremely Significant Results For Human Telepathy

Why is it that extrasensory perception, like human telepathy, remote viewing, psychokinesis and more are commonly shunned by a large portion of the mainstream scientific community? The answer is simple, it’s our inability to understand or develop a sound scientific theory to explain phenomena that, so far, is completely unexplainable, but real. Despite the fact that they are unexplainable, these occurrences (telepathy, remote viewing, psychokinesis, etc..) have been observed in laboratory settings by scientists all over the world for decades. It’s a troublesome thought that experiments, showing repeatedly significant results, continue to be ignored by the mainstream just because we can’t explain them. Again, It’s important to remember that just because we cannot explain them, or figure out (in modern day scientific terms) how they are happening, does not mean that they are not happening.

Understanding How Small Changes Make A Big Difference To Our Lives & The Planet

Pompeii was still recovering from widespread destruction from a previous earthquake back in 62 AD when on the 20th of August of 79 AD a series of earthquakes started to become more regular. Over the next four days the region was shaken by rumblings beneath the earth. The quakes became ever more frequent and intense; on the 24th of August 79AD, Mount Vesuvius erupted spewing out a deadly cloud of stones, ash and fumes to a height of twenty miles. The eruption of Mount Vesuvius destroyed the city of Pompeii which was buried beneath metres of volcanic ash. An estimated 16,000 people died from the eruption. The people of Pompeii were unprepared and did not take the warning signs seriously. There were no attempts to evacuate Pompeii or the surrounding areas prior to the eruption.

The story of Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii helps explain creeping normalcy. Creeping normalcy is a term used to describe how gradual changes can be accepted as the normal situation if these changes happen slowly, or incrementally...

A Good First Step To Awakening

A good first step to awakening is to realize that you haven’t a clue what this moment actually IS. No story, no concept, ever touches the actuality of THIS moment. THIS moment doesn’t need my or your interpretation (no matter how well intentioned) in order to be what it already is. Indeed, EVERY interpretation is yet another magical, unknowable appearance amongst a sea of truly unknowable and magical appearances.

How to see this? It’s simple, but not easy. It’s simple because it’s already here, right now in front of you… in fact you are smack-dab in it so it’s impossible to miss! Yes, right now as you read these words you are not separate from this present moment happening. (Take a moment to let this in, to feel (not think) the direct experience of THIS moment… sights, sounds, smells, sensations, etc.)

No one knows what even a single thing is, or why it is, or where it is, or when it is, or how it came to be. Everyone is confronted by an irreducible Mystery, and that Mystery is profound. – Adi Da

One Astounding Tree Grows 40 Kinds of Fruit!

It’s the cultivation of years of hard work and patience conducted by Artist and Syracuse University professor, Sam Van Aken. He is responsible for creating an absolute wonder – a tree that bears 40 different kinds of fruit, achieved by harnessing an ancient technique called “chip grafting.”

The blooms of this magnificent tree are breathtaking enough, with hot pink, white, purple, and fuchsia bursting forth every spring and summer season like an Andy Warhol painting on steroids.

What is even more fascinating is that the tree preserves many heirloom varieties of stone fruit, from peaches to nectarines, and even almonds! All on the same tree!

Utilizing what Aken calls “sculpture through grafting,” he says that “I can design and essentially sculpt a tree and how it blooms.”
