Grades at school, test scores, accomplishments, appearances, cleverness, upmanship, smoothness of one kind or another have uprooted the heart, patted the heart disrespectfully on the head as if your heart were an unruly child, made the heart just sit there quietly on a wooden chair and behave and do as it is told. The good heart, smiled at every now and then, patted on the head in public – of course, goodness and mercy are okay now and then on occasion but yet, intolerably, the heart is often set aside in board rooms, ball rooms, and in private homes. The Human Heart has been undermined and has not been given its due, not really, perhaps given lip service, let out properly only when no one is looking.

The heart of the matter has, too often, not been attributed, acknowledged, or honored for its Truth and Magnificence. In novels, yes, perhaps in oratory, yet for any heart to sit waiting for its debut is, well, a little shady. Too much of life in the world has been hidden as if the heart were, well, déclassé.

Coming up now, like spring, is the blossoming Year of the Heart, and, from now on, this is how it will be. Like hyacinth bulbs from the rich ground that have been waiting, love is coming up. Hearts all over the world are rising naturally and triumphantly, breathtakingly beautiful, seen by all the world in ardor, recognized by all. This is it, the longed-for Revival of Love on Earth. Hear the drums. Love will be okayed. Love will sing from the rafters. Hearts will sing to beat the band. Birds will lead the chorus.

The battle against Genetically Modified Organisms continues to gain steam as two more European countries have joined a rapidly growing list of nations enforcing some form of a ban against the agricultural method.

Both Italy and Austria are now in the process of banning GMO agriculture, joining a list of European countries that includes France, Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Ireland, Greece, and many more. The widespread action is due in large part to a newly created European Union rule that allows member countries to individually opt out of growing GMO crops.

The most impressive and conclusive action taken thus far globally has been by Russia, which followed up their April 2014 announcement that they would be banning the import of all GMO products with a promise to ban GMO products altogether by the country’s Deputy Prime Minister earlier this month.

I know how difficult it can be to trust something you cannot see, and maybe even something that has disappointed you or let you down in the past. This idea of trust was foreign to me as well, for much of my life. My parents didn’t trust and even the nuns at catholic school didn’t seem to practice trust. Fortunately, life gave me a first-hand education in trusting this invisible source of reality, I now call God (aka Universe, Source, Consciousness etc…).

I was seventeen years old, and had just barely escaped a physically abusive (life-threatening) relationship. I was lost and confused, not knowing how to live the life that was now surprisingly before me. So, when I witnessed a falling star one autumn night, I had no idea what to wish for. By default and not wanting to miss the opportunity, I wished, “Please give me something that I need that I don’t know I need.”

Hindsight: never make this type of wish if you are not prepared for the outcome.

Power is responsibility, responsibility is power. Do not shy away from it. So many times and in so many ways, human language and actions have put a negatives spin on both of these words. If you fear power and/or responsibility you are, in essence, existing in fear of yourself. Embrace your power, take joy in responsibility and love yourself! You are the only one who can do it for you. ~ Creator

1. Appreciate more.

This morning I woke up feeling appreciative of my bed, my incredible friends, and my mom for being the rock in my life. Appreciation feeds happiness. It highlights and gives value to what matters in our life. And the more you appreciate, the more you’ll find things to be appreciative of.

When waking up and going to sleep, remind yourself of three things you currently appreciate in your life.

2. Energize yourself every morning.

Mornings set the tone for the rest of the day. A good morning routine leaves you feeling centered, energized, and ready to take on the world.

Meditate, do yoga, write a list of everything you love, watch inspirational YouTube videos, or listen to your favorite song before leaving the house. Simply, set yourself up for a great day!
