The ease and abundance theme continues with the Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Leo, but the unity between the two benefics in the Sun’s sign is sharply contrasted by as many as four cardinal t-squares forming this week. Sun, Mars, Mercury, and Moon in Cancer will all square Uranus and oppose Pluto. Of interest, two of the four t-squares involve planetary pairs (Mercury-Uranus and Mars-Pluto). Themes of thought leading to innovation, and energy used to increase power, given the effort, are part of the tense patterns in the cardinal signs. Uranus steals the show, as the focal point of the t-squares. Expending effort in a thoughtful manner might pay off well this week, given Uranus’ reservoir of endless knowledge. While any one person can only tap a sliver of Uranus’ potential, taking the initiative, focusing on ideas, and paying attention to “spontaneous innovation” and “original thought” can increase productivity and actualize moving closer towards goals this week, particularly with Uranus making harmonious aspects to the Venus-Jupiter duo.

Enjoy another week with Venus and Jupiter forming the nicest of conjunctions in Leo. The quick Mercury leaps into Cancer this week, but first, he forms a semi-sextile aspect to the Venus-Jupiter conjunction during the first half of the week. Thought and communication connect with Venus’ ease and Jupiter’s abundance. With effort, the Mercury and Venus-Jupiter sextile aspect can work well in using thought and communication to connect to other individuals and groups, and facilitate growth and expansion through use of logic and the mind.

Cupido (Transneptunian) is a critical player in the transits this week. Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter aspect Cupido at various times of the week. Networking, looking sharp, showing charisma, and participating in varying forms of “togetherness” ranging from marriage and partnership, to broad kinship, has great potential this week.

The struggle between Mercury and Neptune wanes by the end of the week. Meanwhile, Venus and Jupiter form the nicest of conjunctions all week, and they conjunct exactly on June 30. Mercury takes on a pivotal role towards the end of the week, in his home sign and at the focal point of a double minor grand trine with Uranus, his tutor, and the pleasant Venus-Jupiter duo in Leo. Communication, networking, gathering information, and logical thought have a supercharged boost from Uranus and a sense of abundance and cooperation from Venus and Jupiter. Mercury is wringing free of Neptune’s fog this week, but do be aware of Neptune’s brighter side (such as creativity) in generating solutions to problems and using the mind.

Sun forms an opposition to Pluto this week, and Mars begins to form one to his overlord…Mars‘ energy is amplified by Pluto‘s power! Sun-Pluto is tense this week, but encourages conscious perspectives and building up personal power. With all of the activity among the planets this week, and with two planetary pairs forming, no less, perhaps Saturn steals the show. The mutual reception with Pluto continues (think powerful structures, disciplined transformation) and the slow-moving Saturn aspects three of the eight Transneptunians throughout the week. Responding to internal and external authority suggests opportunities to be persistent and focused, use power and force, and multiply efforts.

Triple Water Astrology – The Anaretic Degree! Sun in Cancer 2015 newsletter

Welcome to Sun in Cancer, 2015. Happy solar return to those with Sun in Cancer, including myself! If you have Sun, ascendant, or other features in your natal chart emphasizing the Cancer sign, one of your influential planets is the Moon. The Moon symbolizes the primary emotional need in the chart/personality (very succinctly, if you know your Moon sign, this starts the ball rolling: [Moon in] Aries/initiation; Taurus/material security; Gemini/gather information; Cancer/emotional security; Leo/self-expression; Virgo/analysis; Libra/balancing; Scorpio/transformation; Sagittarius/exploration; Capricorn/achievement; Aquarius/be unique; Pisces/seeking the source). The Moon is the inner unconscious part of ourselves around which the ego/Sun operates. While it’s very powerful (note that Sun and Moon are the same sized disk in the sky from our perspective), we aren’t normally cognizant of it. It bubbles up occasionally into the consciousness, through our daily habits, and when emotions are expressed.

While Saturn continues to settle back into the Scorpio sign again this week, Sun and Mars will change signs. A much more watery feel to the week ensues at it progresses. Mercury direct in his home sign, Gemini, becomes the only planet to manifest via an air sign. The air energy is well represented, however, by Mercury’s logic and step-by-step approach to problem solving. Mars is enervated in Cancer, or perhaps better said, out of place in the Cancer sign, but he is still Mars! Protective and defensive qualities emerge in the quest to obtain desires.

Venus and Jupiter form the nicest of conjunctions all week, and the greatest unity between the two occurs at the end of the week. Jupiter’s benevolence and Venus’ ease march in a lockstep fashion in the fiery Leo sign. This week has its share of change, but the influence of Venus and Jupiter, and a more placid Mars, encourages looking at the brighter side of events. Saturn and Neptune (and Chiron) are retrograde. Structure, spirituality, and forging your own path tend to have an all or nothing feel, another piece of this week’s complicated puzzle in the transits.

Mercury and Saturn influence the supernal tapestry heavily this week. Both start the week in opposition. Mercury has already gone direct and retraces his backward steps in his home sign throughout the week. Saturn, meanwhile, retrogrades back into the Scorpio sign. Saturn’s influence reverts to a very Plutonic feel – an experience of power through authority and structure. Saturn and Pluto once again will be in mutual reception. Authority acts from behind the scenes. More personally, the Saturn-Pluto link provides an opportunity to develop personal power and use perspectives to great effect when internal and external authority is responded to effectively.

Several planets this week are in home signs or in mutual reception. Neptune and Mercury remain in their dominions, and still struggle against each other with a square aspect. Shortly after the week begins, Saturn and Pluto team up in each other’s signs, and even the Moon resides in her home sign, Cancer, for a few days. A theme of “moving forward” this week, through using the power of planets in their home signs or in mutual reception, is useful for meeting various challenges and creating opportunities at work or other areas of your life. A strong plus is Venus and Jupiter forming a stronger unit as the week progresses. Venus’ ease acts with Jupiter’s abundance, forming the nicest of conjunctions.

The stellium of planets in Gemini, Mars, Sun, and Mercury, squaring the mighty Neptune, continues to roil the transits at the beginning of the week. Yet, the beginning of the week also signals the start of combined ease and abundance, with Venus entering Leo, the sign in which Jupiter currently resides. Saturn edges very closely to the Scorpio sign by week’s end, and makes a strong opposition to Mercury retrograde in his home sign. Smoother aspects among planets in the transits by the end of the week helps to allow advantages based on disciplined thought, networking with authority figures, and structuring communication well, even with both Saturn and Mercury retrograde.

Sun and Mars, sharing some similar functions, form a double minor grand trine with Jupiter and Uranus for most of the week. Pushing projects and goals forward, through use of innovative ideas and an optimistic demeanor, is quite a contrast to the previous theme of the last two weeks, finding the “opportunities in the difficulties”. This week is about opportunities without many of the previous difficulties!

The week begins with a logjam of tense aspects in the heavens. The logjam begins to break up a bit by week’s end, however. Pluto in mid-Capricorn becomes very important by the end of the week, with a double yod forming and pointing to Pluto. Sun, Mars (Pluto’s soldier/warrior/minion), and Jupiter contribute to the double yod pattern. Power is the focus of energy, vitality, and expansion this week. Pluto also signals transformation and change. How can the difficult tension between the planets lead to developing personal power and implementing needed, meaningful, and profound change this week?

Venus will also be very close to exiting the Cancer sign at the end of the week, and Saturn will be very close to retrograding back into the Scorpio sign. So much activity in the transits recalls last week’s theme of “opportunities in the difficulties” continuing in force. Rough waves in the transits, but also opportunities to substantially move forward.

Triple Water Astrology – The Anaretic Degree! Sun in Gemini 2015 newsletter

This Mercury retrograde is quite potent! Not only is Mercury in his home sign, Gemini, but he’s also forming a square to Neptune in Pisces as he retraces his steps in the Gemini sign. I have the feeling that I’ve been forgetting things more than usual with this retrograde. Another side effect is a slightly late newsletter! I hope everyone still finds it of use.

I am raising my rates again. However, if you mention my newsletter and purchase a reading with Sun in Gemini this month I will charge the “old” rates for any reading. No worries about my ability to do sharp, insightful readings even with Mercury retrograde, because I have natal Mercury retrograde and also, my natal Saturn helps to mitigate Mercury’s mischief when he’s in Gemini. Mercury retrograde has nice opportunities for those willing to acclimate to his pace. Care and caution, and even “re-doing” tasks or “re-thinking” various strategies might yield better results than a one-shot deal. Indeed, Mercury is about learning.

Sun, Mercury, and Mars form a stellium in Gemini all week, that becomes more concentrated as the week passes. The Gemini stellium, led by Mercury retrograde, squares Neptune in Pisces. Thought, ambition, and vitality clash with the effusive, amorphous Neptune. Air dominates water; thus, the Mercury-led trio has an edge over the mighty Neptune, but only after a difficult struggle. Perhaps Chiron is providing clues about how to deal with the difficult squares this week. He is well past Neptune, but still in Pisces, and making a wide square to Mercury. What kind of insight and spiritual growth can be attained when heated logic competes with illusive dreams and imagination? I can almost hear Chiron telling us that the most tense aspects lead to the greatest growth and triumph in the end.

Venus is also active this week, helping to form a cardinal t-square with Pluto and Uranus. Venus’ collaboration and harmony edge into the long-standing Uranus-Pluto’s conflict. With effort, Venus’ qualities can help to implement meaningful change and improved methods and structures.

Eight of the ten planets are involved in tense patterns with one another, creating a poignant theme of “opportunities in the difficulties” this week.
