Achievement or Understanding? The Choice is Ours

Credit: Pinterest.com

By Wes Annac, The Culture of Awareness

It’s safe to say that most people on the spiritual path would love to be free of attachment, which tends to hinder our growth and evolution. Attachment to achievement or material things is yet another manifestation of the nearly constant effort to fill the inner void, which, as we’re learning, we don’t want to fill at all.

Instead of filling it, the best thing we can do is sit with it, observe it and come to the realization that it’s our gateway to spirit.

The void we try so desperately to fill is actually our means of connecting with the divine; our inner Christ consciousness. Unfortunately, a lot of people – even spiritual seekers – try so hard to fill it that they forget that it’s where their Christed Self lives in the first place.

Pain, Confusion and Self-Surrender

By Wes Annac, The Culture of Awareness

In order to grow, creatively or spiritually, we have to be willing to be broken down. We have to be willing to be emptied of everything we once thought was important or essential so the new can come pouring in, and the more we resist, the harder the process will be.

Some of us struggle to find what we want to do in this life, and this can make the process of creative/spiritual evolution more uncomfortable and painful.

It gets even harder if we have an overactive mind that constantly races from thought to thought and desire to desire, and it seems important to relinquish any mind-centered control we forcefully exert and let life flow exactly how it’s meant to.

If you’re looking for a detailed channeled book that addresses nearly every key aspect of our ongoing shift into a higher consciousness, look no further than The Ascension Manual – A Lightworker’s Guide to Living in the Fifth Dimension – Part 1 from Caroline Oceana Ryan.

I started reading it with the intention of offering my perspective on what it had to say, and I ended up so captivated that I eagerly drank in all the advice that was offered, much of which was extremely relevant to my recent questions and experiences.

If you enjoy channeled material that offers a grounded perspective on a wide array of issues that have to do with our physical/spiritual ascension and the things we can do right now to make this process easier on ourselves, this guide could help you.

The Ultimate Treasure

Franklin Merrell-Wolff, who we’ll hear from here, frequently referred to enlightenment as a “treasure”.

Like a lot of spiritual teachers have told us, enlightenment is as much of a destructive process as it is constructive, but at the “end” of it all, we’ll come out shining, divine beings who are fully aware of our divinity and are able to use our newfound, elevated awareness to address society’s biggest problems.

We’re becoming aware of our Godliness and the things we can achieve once we tap into it, but for the most part, none of us have really found enlightenment.

We still have quite a path ahead of us before we get there, but our spiritual evolution isn’t about reaching the destination – it’s about enjoying ourselves along the way.

Awaken, Spiritual Revolutionaries

With every day that goes by, more people are awakening to the injustice being perpetrated at the top of the social/economic hierarchy, and as we awaken, we assemble to figure out how we can make a change.

We’re also becoming aware of the spiritual nature of our existence and the fact that we’re innately spiritual beings who have yet to truly discover our Godliness.

We’re searching for answers to the questions that burn deep within, which are now coming to the surface, and we’re encouraging the rest of the world to find the answers to their own deeply rooted questions.

Those questions usually have to do with how we can expose and dethrone the elitists who unjustly control the world and how we can connect with our inner Self, and our passion and inspiration will rise as we find the answers we’ve searched for.

We’re creating and contributing to a massive spiritual revolution that’s rooted in awareness and empowerment for the common man. We’re realizing that we aren’t “common” at all, and we can do anything we put our minds to.

Seeking the Magic

Inspired by an article from Shubhra on Wake Up World, entitled Those Who Don’t Believe in Magic Will Never Find It

We’re all looking for some color in our life; some magic; something that’ll reassure us that the things we’ve learned about life and spirituality are genuine. Some of us probably don’t need reassurance about our beliefs, because we’ve long accepted that our discoveries are real.

Regardless, we’re all looking for something to expand our spirituality and help us see that we really do live in an infinite universe that’s composed of pure, blissful vibrations, which we can tap into with focused, disciplined effort.

We’ve sought love and spirit in plenty of different ways, and a lot of techniques are offered in this day and age to help us “expand our minds”, “raise our vibration”, “connect with our higher self/spiritual guides” – the list goes on.

We Are Infinite – Believe It!

You might not have heard of Gloria Wendroff’s “Heavenletters”, which are intuitively channeled messages that come directly from God (the highest source imaginable), but I think they’re among the most helpful messages out there.

I’m not as passionate about channeling as I once was, but I still follow and repost Gloria’s messages because they resonate a lot with me.

It doesn’t matter how you refer to God (I prefer the terms ‘Jah’ or ‘Source’), and it doesn’t even matter if you believe this omnipotent creator consciousness actually speaks through Gloria Wendroff or anyone else. Either way, you can empower yourself if you look within and expand your limits.

Music: The Language of Spirit – Part 2

There’s a lot more to be said about the spiritual benefits of music than we covered in part one, and we’ll continue our discussion here. Like I said before, I think music’s spiritual value is mostly unappreciated in our society, and most of the mainstream music we’re subjected to is void of any real awareness or spirituality.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of genuine, valuable spiritual music out there, but you have to search to find it and you’ll probably be disappointed if you look for it in the mainstream.

Music was never meant to be something hollow that pleases the senses but offers little else in the way of spirituality or upliftment, and I think it’s an important helper for anyone who wants to spiritually evolve.

The Destructive Art of Overthinking

Credit: Damianmarksmyth.com

By Wes Annac, The Culture of Awareness

Overthinking is the best way to make ourselves miserable, and in my opinion, one of the most important aspects of our spiritual evolution is learning to decrease the mind-driven pressure we tend to put on ourselves and just exist, free of any stresses, worries or concerns.

Negativity is inevitable, and whether it’s from outside or within, we’ll always have to deal with it as long as we’re on this planet. We can choose how to handle it, however, and instead of feeding it or letting it bring us down, we can recognize that despite how real it seems, it’s always been an illusion.

As we’re learning, true reality is found when we transcend the rigid, overactive mind and find a place of peace and inner silence. We won’t find true reality by searching for it, externally or in the mind, and in my experience, the best way to find it is to stay active and progressive yet calm and silent within.

Throughout our attempts to stay active, we might find that our own mind makes us unhappy. Thought after thought tends to pour in regardless of our mood or our emotional state, and if we’re in a negative frame of mind, our thoughts will reflect that negativity and we’ll make ourselves miserable.

Music: The Language of Spirit

Bob Marley, chanting down Babylon from heaven. Photo origin unknown.

“If we can feel that

“It is not our voice,

“Not our fingers,

But some reality deep inside our heart

“Which is expressing itself,

Then we will know that it is

“The soul’s music.” – Sri Chinmoy

By Wes Annac, The Culture of Awareness

Have you ever picked up a guitar or put in your favorite CD and let the music carry you away to a place of bliss and ecstasy?

Most people might not understand where this euphoric feeling comes from, but in my opinion, it comes from an innately spiritual place. I think music elevates our consciousness and introduces us to a spiritual reality that’s comprised of pure sound and color, and this is why it appeals to so many people.

As we’ll learn here, music is a universal, metaphysical language that we can tap into and use to lighten our vibration and uplift anyone who hears our joyful, melodic sounds. Plenty of people think there’s more to music than meets the eye, and we’ll get the most out of it if we can open up and consider that it could actually be spiritual.

There’s obviously something mystical about music.
